Macanoni and Nuggies are a exceptional diet, but some times you want to mix it up. Here I will present my original take on the traditional british fish and chips that you can make for yourself in five minutes. The ingredients required are fish fillets, real butter, lemon juice, seasoning, and chips.
Step One: Place some fish filets on a microwave safe plate. Sprinkle on some lemon juice, add some seasoning, and add some butter patties.

Pro tip. I'm using a store bought fish seasoning here, but salt and pepper is fine, and Cajun seasoning hits a really good spot.
Step two: Place in the microwave and nuke it for two to three minutes. It will vary according to the wattage of the microwave and the amount of fish on the plate. If the fish starts exploding, it is done.

Step Three. Plate your fish on your finest tableware and add chips. Here I have added flavor twists. You might notice in the middle I have spooned out some butter for a dipping sauce.

Step 4 enjoy.
Please note that there is nothing here that will disguise the fishiness of fish so you should use a light flavored fish if that is a concern.

Personally I put my fish in tinfoil in the oven. I've never operated a microwave before because I feel it's an insult to cooking but I've heard it fucks up fish really badly.
Also if you want the traditional batter you're gonna need a deep fat fryer (just another reason to get one)

That fish looks depressing as all hell. Not everything can be made in a microwave.

Microwaved a frozen catfish meal once. Threw it out after about four bites. Never again. Half cold, soggy burritos are more edible than a fish that seemed to be more dead parasite than dead fish. I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning.

As someone who lives in Blackpool the "fish and chip capital of the UK" I am offended by this post

Bro it takes no time at all to cook fish in the oven. The time saved by nuking them is far outweighed by the absolute nastiness of the resulting flavor.

If you want actual 5 minute fish, fry or blacken it.
