I've realized that the main reason why pedophilia isn't used in any FNAF fan works, it's not because its something that isn't rightfully horrific, but because it hits way too close to many of the fan creators.

I'm surprised how much of this thread is discussion about Scott Cawthon's political stances and whatever modern fangame drama exists now. There's a lot more to FNAF shit than that.
I was around the age demographic for FNAF when it was hot and at its peak the fandom was absolutely deranged; not in a modern "tranny pedophiles everywhere" way but in an old-fashioned internet fandom full of actual kids doing embarrassing but funny kid stuff. There were kids drawing furry art of the animatronics haunted by dead kids getting romantically involved. There was a renaissance of stupid video game parody songs about FNAF, almost as many as Minecraft had at its peak. Kids were calling an actual pizza location in Virginia nonstop and they had to have an employee from the business on the subreddit asking them to please cut it out. It was a very wild time to be on the internet.
People deride the cringe now but honestly I would rather have this earnest, charming sort of stupid kid stuff over modern "fandom cringe" that mostly consists of tranny sex offenders grooming children in a fandom over Twitter.
Scott is on record saying that he loves his fanbase to death and I believe him. That being said I'm pretty sure the fanverse initiative bullshit is one of the main reasons he stopped interacting with the FNAF community entirely; a relationship of any kind with them is just straight up optics poison. Hell, the last post he made on his animdude reddit account was him talking about a person he'd worked with in the community who got caught drawing child porn.
“Overwhelmingly negative contemporary reception”? I was always under the impression that the Fuckboys games were considered some of the best fangames, especially at the time the first one came out. Granted I haven’t really cared about FNAF since the third game (and even then I was pretty much only interested in the theories) but a lot of the comments on the Gamejolt post seem to echo that sentiment.

Don’t know anything about the Fuckboy’s sub-fandom but the whole “quality” thing rings a little bit for the fnaf community as a whole. Most modern games done by fans need some team of people in the double digits with realistic graphics that take up most of the RAM space plus 1-3+ years of dev time that’s considered to pass the bar, while small games made by a single dude made in the span of a couple months tend to be almost immediately forgotten save a few people.
Was lurking on Gamejolt for some stuff and I ended up coming across Nickolas_Person, or Nick_Person, creator of Fun Times at Homer's, a Five Night's at Freddy's/The Simpsons parody series. I remembered someone going apeshit over them being "transphobic" around 5 years ago on some discord, but when I checked Nick's profile, it was actually the opposite case, and Nick had infact, trooned out into a brave and stunning she/they woman.

and it is also quite alarming when you realize this guy is a Five Nights at Sonic's fan, another fnaf sub-community for games that are just literal mspaint recolors of the original fnaf games except with kiddie game characters slapped onto it, and is somehow more autistic and pedophilic than fnaf itself that it even has it's own section on TvTrope's Role Ending Misdemeanor page, and directly had ties to an infamous member known as SmilerLucifer in one of xer games, before he got exposed for making porn of sonic characters.
