Five Nights At Freddy's

So turns out Scott, the guy who made the game, is actually a pretty successful indie developer who mostly works on christian themed games. I wonder what made him decide to switch over to making games about a satanic teddy bear and his buddies hunting down underpaid security gaurds? Whenever somebody asks him about it he always jokes about how "they" made him do it or something.
Perhaps he wanted to work on something different for once, something that isn't Christian themed, something in a different genre.

From what I can gather around the internet, someone said that the characters in one of his older works moved "like a creepy old animatronic" and it just snowballed from there, or something.

Either way, I downloaded the game recently, will start playing as soon as I wake up tomorrow to wake me up as opposed to keep me awake. I need something to do while I wait for that last Dark Souls 2 DLC, after all.

Now to be fair, there isnt really anything anti-christian in FNAF. The whole game reeks of experimentation - successfull experimentation yes, but experimentation.

As a follow up to when I said that whatever theory YOU! decide on with the animatronics will always sound better in YOUR head, and the line about how making headcanons (god I hate that word!) can be fun so long as you dont take them seriously, I do like the 'theory' (can it really be called that? There is no proof!) that the cameraman is a unwitting pawn for a DARPA-funded experiment for a next generation line of USMC Robo Supersoliders. Why do I like it? Killer Robots are Cool

So basically he took a negative comment about one of his games and worked with it? That's actually pretty cool.
And I was just saying its just kinda funny that a game that's become so famous for making anyone who plays it scared shitless and insanely paranoid was developed by a guy who's track record up until now was making games about the bible. He seems like a really chill guy looking at his twitter.

New teaser image for FNaF2 was released recently. It somehow raises even more questions. and manages to answer how to make them even creepier:

It appears that the animatronics are getting a new makeover to show that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is making a comeback. Or it's a new animatronic that "replaces" Bonnie.

What about Freddy though? He looked all ragged in the last image.

My assumption is that the "new" animatronics essentially use parts cannibalized from the original ones, and that there might be two versions of them now: One that's more shiny, new, and closer to what they looked like in their prime, while the old ones have been left to decay even further, having been more or less replaced by the "new" ones.

The original Bonnie being faceless and limp calls into question if their function has changed. Maybe they'll behave akin to Golden Freddy, or perhaps even like Foxy, attacking the player character based on the amount of noise they make rather than the frequency of checking up on them via camera. This is pure speculation, however.

Is it just me, or does the new bunny look kinda metallic? Think maybe the company who owns the pizzaria ditched the endoskeletons in suits in favor of just having them be full on robots? Probably to deal with the accidentally stuffing people in suits thinking they're naked skeletons thing.

Also seeing Bonnie like that actually makes me a little sad. Like I know he's the reason I died half the time, but I actually liked the little psychotic fucker :(

Maybe during the later nights in the second game the original versions of the animatronics will somehow get their parts back from the new ones and they'll start stalking you instead? But either way they did one hell of a job making the new ones creepy.

With that said, one can only wonder how the new Chica would look. Same goes for Freddy and Foxy.
I'm wondering if Foxy will even get a redesign. He was already in bad condition in the first game.

I'm getting the feeling that they'll scrap him due to him causing the Bite of '87. They wouldn't want to risk bringing back the character responsible for putting them out of business in the first place. If he does appear in the game, I'd imagine he would be in some sort of warehouse or supply closet, hidden inside a box. He would either still have the same mechanics from the first game, or just pop out and scare the player in a manner similar to his death scene as an "easter egg".

Well yeah, but honestly I don't think they'll scrap him. I mean even after he bit someone's head off they didn't lock him up or anything, they just threw him behind a curtain with a little sign warning people to stay away. They didn't even bother to pull out his machinery or remove his section of the place. And these are guys who leave a security guard in an incredibly dangerous situation for entire nights with limited power to protect themselves and don't repair or wash their mascots, sooo I wouldn't put bringing back a character who can potentially maul anyone who gets too close past them.

The creator did say somewhere that he wants to bring some of the animatronics in his headspace that didnt make it into the game. As such, I kinda would imagine that foxy would get the chopping block in favor of something that is new.

The game seems hectic enough as-is without piling even more animatronics in.

Edit: This would also encourage buyers to buy the orignal if some things are downright replaced instead of added. You want foxy? Buy the original game!

I do hope we get more hints on golden freddy. Because I dont know about you, but having him just be a hallucination seems kinda... lame, although its suddenly alot less so if its Phoneguy stuffed in the suit.

But if its phoneguy stuffed in the suit AND a hallucination, how would you possibly hallucinate it on anything before day 4-AAAAAAAAAAAA....*crash*

So recently Scott has revealed that either Mike or the phone guy were involved in the story on the news clippings in the east hallway. So I guess that means that either Mike was a surviving victim of the incedent, or maybe phone guy was the killer? The story keeps getting more and more eerie everytime something gets revealed. :(
