Five Nights At Freddy's

Jesus fucking Christ. I know this got announced earlier on, but Scott released the teaser trailer yesterday. It looks so much like a late April Fool's Joke, that I just can't wrap my mind around any of it. I have a feeling Scott is only making this to test out the boundaries of what his fans will eat up.

Though, I will admit some of the models are pretty cute.

Two days away from Halloween and the game's DLC release. And Scott updated the website's picture.

Wait, I thought FNAF4 already got an early release backed in late July 2015? Why is there such fanfare of the same game getting released again? Will it contain new content or something? Maybe it'll give the tweens something spoopy to do on Halloween besides trick or treating past their age.

Hear me out on this weird thought: Scott Cawthon is starting to remind me of Stephenie Meyer (the author of Twilight). Now, not in how weirdly religious they are, but in terms of their creative production. Their debut works of FNAF/Twilight were big hits, something novel, I guess. It put these creators into the spotlight and started making them lots of monies. As the sequels kept on coming out, fans kept on eating this stuff up and annoying the shit out of all the non-FNAF/Twilight fans. Now that number 4 and the spinoffs (FNAF World, that genderbent Twilight rewrite) of these series have come out, even some fans are wondering why the fuck these creators keep on making sequels of degraded quality. To make more monies? Because they refuse to let go of the work that made them famous? Whatever the reason, it's kind of pathetic. Not all of that creativity to make your big break is all used up now, is it?

I wouldn't lump Scott on the same level as Meyer just yet. Meyer from the start was pretty much a hack with Bella just living some fucked up dream life Meyer wanted and each book steadily continued to devolve into more and more shitty soap plot (like holy goddamn my sister told me that Bella finally becomes a vampire because of some birth complication shit and I don't even want to try recalling the details of that shitshow). She did land the movie adaptions, though, so where things SHOULD have stopped was Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 except Meyer's next attempt at a series - The Host - sounds even more fucking retarded and despite getting a movie she's ditched it and gone right back to milking the Twilight cow by essentially changing the genders of most (but not all, mind you) of the characters and turning it into an even more pedantic piece of shit. There's a thread about this R63 book in the literature sub-forum IIRC.

But Scott? FNAF only came out a year ago so he's still riding this cash cow franchise for all it's worth. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's just fucking with everybody in regards to this "FNAF World" crap to see how far he can take it, as Shuu suggested. Only time will tell if when FNAF's popularity finally dies and Scott tries moving onto something else only to fail and need to resurrect FNAF to keep the cash flow coming - which evidence suggests he's not given the mechanics of each FNAF game are never quite the same, like he's using the franchise as a vehicle to experiment with variations of the basic premise and to improve his craft in ways to be applied in other games he will make.

It's Halloween DLC with added stuff to the main story, extra modes and mini games, new bit of story, ect.

bump this for news no one wanted
I hope he continues making games. The autism it generates is amusing.
HEY GUESS WHAT?

Why can't he just use the same concept in a different game series? That's the First Person Shooter genre in general.

OH YEAH AUTISM KEK

So the next game is taking place in some sort of furry's dungeon sexshop?

Now for the plot twist: You play a robot trying to escape the filth encrusted hands of various furries out to rape you. Each night you get a message from other animatronics about how they tried and failed to escape. The final message will be from a robot that has made it to the ground floor and how they think they've found a way out, but their sensors keep picking up a low, barely audible sound, like some sort of animal noise that keeps getting a bit closer. Finally they arrive at the exit, by then the sound has become louder, closer, and you now can clearly hear the soul-chilling noise:

YIFF!

Oh thank God. I was beginning to worry I was going to have to make it through the summer without an adequate amount of shitty FNAF fanart for my grill and more pseudo-intellectuals who overthink video games (*cough* MatPat *cough*) to give me a valid reason to drink myself into a coma.

I don't think the world can handle another fnaf game. We've barely started recovering from FNAF World

If it wasn't FNAF, it would have been another video game.
