Maybe in commie town that's what they call it.In the totalitarian grimdarkness of Easternmost Europe where I live, sodas are either called by their brand name (Cola, Fanta, Sprite) or (occasionally) called "газированная вода" (gazirovannaya voda, lit. "carbonated water") shortened to "газировка" (gazirovka).

Лимонад means lemonade in Russian. I haven't heard anyone calling soda a lemonade here.Assuming that's Russian, my Muscovite Russian professor back in the day taught us you say лимонад and looking into it I'm very disappointed she apparently lied to us.
