Some flags I'm quite fond of;
This is the flag of a very remote town in Russia called Anadyr, located in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (The bit of Russia closest to Alaska). It's just a very happy bear with a big fish.
This is the flag of the Kamchatka Krai, it shows the three volcanoes that surround the administrative capital of the krai, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. While the flag itself is quite nice, the coat of arms of the krai has a wonderful design. Unfortunately it was just slapped on the flag without too much thought
Russian federal subjects and cities in general have a lot of good, interesting and cool flags if you go look for them. But they also have some weird ones.
This is the flag of Shuya, Ivanovo Oblast. It used to be a large production hub of soap... So naturally they made the city flag a bar of soap. (Yes that's what that's supposed to be)
Another one is the flag of Penza Oblast. It's literally a picture of Jesus. Bear in mind this isn't some small local flag, this is the flag of the whole oblast (Russian equivalent of a state in the US).
Now for some really awful flags.
This is the flag of Milwaukee, it's beyond cluttered with crap, and not only does it have writing and a coat of arms in the flag, it literally has another flag it in.
The old flag of New Mexico, they took a page off the UK's book and put the American flag in the top left, the 47 represents that it was the 47th state to join the US, and just for good measure they slapped the seal with the state nickname on it. It honestly looks like it was made in Powerpoint, which is surprising since New Mexico has one of the best (Or the best, it's a tough match between them and Arizona) current US state flags.
And last and very much least, the single worst flag I've seen, Brown County Nebraska. I don't know if this is real or some elaborate joke, because every time I try and trace where it came from I come to a dead link, but all evidence seems to point to it being a real thing.
Sorry if this post ends up being too long because of all the images, I don't really know how far I can push with the images before I should turn them into thumbnails.
