All other chaos flags look like buttholes.

I have always liked the Royal Standard of Scotland, the colours go well together and it has an angry looking lion rampant, although Scotland's national animal is actually the unicorn. There are all sorts of autistic rules about flying it which the flag police probably take hilariously seriously, so few people will possess the correct loicence to fly it because it is basically the Monarch's standard.

i've seen this flag many, many times and never noticed this

Probably because it's not always there.

This seems to be the more common variant of the flag, although I'm not sure which is the "correct" one. A lot of more intricate, older flags have this problem. They've had a lot of variations made for a very long time, and it may no longer be clear what the original even looked like. If you look up the Erin Go Bragh flag, there are a lot of variations of the harp woman on it.

a flag should have these qualities: simple, bold, meaningful, and recognizable. thus, it should not be overly complex, use washed-out colors, display random colors/designs without symbolism, and should not look too similar to another flag. also, it helps if you can tell what it is when its hanging limp.
