To play devil's advocate for a moment, Flam actually has met and talked to Augie IRL (when they went to that debate panel Destiny and some conservative dude were holding).

And Augie is similarly forgiving (too forgiving, in fact) to pretty much everyone he becomes friendly with. That's why he's kept that nosy faux-intellectual moralfag AidenProjects around for so long, despite the majority of the audience hating him.

Sounds more like a co-worker or acquaintance to me. Every day millions of people meet up and are friendly toward other people at work as a normalcy. Unless we start going on fishing trips or house-sitting for each other we aren't friends. Augie and Flamenco did the equivalent of showing up to the office in-person that day. At best.

I just like the fact DeOrio has consistently shit Flam. Flam needs to just stay in his vtuber space if he wants to stop taking Ls. It makes me laugh whenever I watch a stream and some e-celeb calls their viewers and paypigs friends. There is a reason these grifters don't tell you their name and don't want you to know where they live. Can you call them up and ask them to help you move? That's basically my friend vs acquaintance measuring stick. Do I call all my friends up when I need a favor? No, but I know that I could and that they'd deliver. I don't think the current generations have a real understanding of what friendship is given how terminally online they are and the prevalence of parasocial relationships.

The dumbest thing the younger generations do is hold stock in people online. What makes a true friend or family is the fact they have known you for years, seen your failures and accomplishments and still choose to respect and hang out with you. Online friends are flakes that will sell you out and throw you under the bus and there is zero you can do about it because its not real life shit that is on the line. The people who make statements like "This online personality I have never personally met is a good person they never did anything wrong" are completely lost and have no idea how the world works. If Jim Metokur murdered a child on video in 4k people would defend it and say it was a gay op and that he is a paragon of virtue the infant attacked him and he was defending himself so its justified.
