If I had it my way we wouldn't have a random updates thread at all and every topic on whatever Chris does would live or die on its own merits. It would at least avoid situations like this where there's clear hypocrisy in threads that are deemed interesting enough and those that aren't.

With that said, all Chris is doing here is saying 'I disagree, I like this gif.' Come on, even a photo of Chris's car dashboard and his ridiculous figurine is more discussion worthy than that.

In a time were we're trying to improve the quality of the board I still can't see any decent discussion coming out of it all the same. I can sympathise though when you see other threads about minor issues staying unmerged.
