Food delivery addicts lately have become a deep fascination for myself, I use that term in the most appropriate manner because I am fucking perplexed at how someone can not only dedicate themselves to an eating regiment that’s reached olympic levels of laziness, but that’s also simultaneously a form of torture through financial draining. Such draining reaching not just hundreds, but fucking thousands of lost revenue for these lethargic sentient turds that somehow feel the need to pay a service fee for every goddamn meal, snack, and sugary calorie-stuffed feast. While this undoubtedly began shortly after the COVID lockdowns ended, I became more aware of this trend throughout this year as there’s been on and off discourse whenever anyone rightfully calls out how strange this crap is followed by attracting comments from the hordes of deranged and entitled addicts.

Now it’s common knowledge food delivery services are an extremely poor choice in regards to the intrinsic value of food; restaurants are always more expensive than cooking yourself as you’re literally paying for service alongside a tip and here you’re now paying an additional service fee for some low income bloke to drive and pick up the food for you, who also needs a tip because unsurprisingly these companies fuck them over in terms of pay. And what’s the takeaway from that? Fuck that, I’ll just drive myself? Meh, only if I’m having a really shitty day? I guess if I broke my leg?
No sweetie! We’re dealing with special manbabies, trannies, and munchies who will cry your ear off about how this is the only lifestyle they can not only follow, but the only way they can survive:

And you’re correct at guessing they’ll take criticism in only the most appropriate and healthy manner:

What I love most and find majority of the humor from these failures of Darwinism kept only alive by modern society is the fucking lengths they’ll leap to in order to defend their self-raping addiction. Not to mention how much seethe they get filled with whenever any post on twitter ridiculing them gains traction. Such as earlier in the year when there was a landslide of self proclaimed “disabled” commies who argued that doordash is necessary because the alternative is frozen foods-
Mental_Illness5.png
Mental_Illness6.png
-which is apparently a global conspiracy conjured up by the monopoly man™ to milk excess wealth out of the proles because of CRAPitalism!
MentalIllness.png
Actually food isn’t just a human right, all forms of food are! The socialist state must guarantee my right to have my fellow comrades deliver my Baconator Cheeseburger alongside my large Diet Coke, and I shouldn’t have to pay a DIME!
Mental_Illness10.png
What’s that? You think I’m lazy for using Doordash for every meal? You clearly are an ableist eugenics supporter on the level of Hitler, don’t you know the struggle I go through to survive as an autist?
Man I almost wish reality worked like this retard thinks, insult powered high velocity missiles with inbred homing.

“I won’t add to the discussion, except I’ll remind you doordash haters that SLAVERY once existed!”

By the way, you’re also correct in guessing that most of these people’s “disabilities” are vaguely defined claims of social anxiety, ADHD, autism, crippling depression, etc. The amount of embarrassment these people could avoid if they were just honest and admitted they’re lazy bundles of lard, actually no, that still isn’t an excuse, you’re just a flat out fucking retard if you doordash 14 times a week.

Do any of you guys also see any of this shit? Unfortunate enough to know anyone that does this in real life? Have any other funny screenshots? Let's discuss!

Having seen one of these people in real life it's genuinely upsetting. I'm no stranger to ringing up the local pizza joint and ordering a pie for delivery. But it's crazy seeing how much some of these people spend on these services, man. Especially in the US with how much easy stuff there is to make where you can still eat decently enough with minimal prep. I feel like even those goofy services where they deliver ingredients and a recipe right to you might be too much for some of these people.

If you are too disabled to cook and/or drive to the restaurant you probably qualify for Meals on Wheels, an in home caretaker, or living in an assisted living facility.

It's amazing people are willing to spend 2 or 3 times the cost of just driving to the drive-through or calling a takeout order. I've looked at Instacart pickup before as it came to a local store. Instacart says they don't increase the prices but yet each item was 20-50 cents more expensive. So there is hidden costs involved even when you get "free delivery" or "free-pickup".

I can understand once in a blue moon when you've actually sick or drunk. But if you have these services available to you, you can probably get what you want with a 15 min round trip.

You would be absolutely amazed by how common these people are, even in person. The best way to identify them is if you hear someone loudly complain about meals being too expensive. I mean prices suck now, but $25 meals are not standard, and yet I regularly hear 30-something burnouts from all walks whining about it.

The justifications they conjure are always fantastic, my favorite being a legit heroin addict telling me about how the calcium in tap water makes home cooking unhealthy by making your brain smaller. Or a girl telling me that she doesn't like to use her kitchen because her grandmother who lives on the other side of the country might randomly visit and ask her to make something if she found out she can cook.

While this undoubtedly began shortly after the COVID lockdowns ended,
This was already a thing in big cities pre covid but the shut in crap emboldened them. It's all the weenie office worker types. If the apps had shut down these people would have starved to death.
pet food and kitty litter
Big bulky items make the most sense to deliver. If you walk to the store or something you're not carrying home a 20 lbs bag or rice or 40 lbs pet food. But you would order that from amazon or some shit.

I have a relative who does this. Why yes they are a drug addict who has never worked a day in their life and has no impulse control. He can also one-up your examples because he also refuses to walk anywhere or use public transport (and this is the UK not USA) and instead takes taxis in addition to subsisting on food deliveries. He took a taxi to visit our home from about two streets away, there and back. So he was paying the minimum fare for Uber each time which I think is around £5 to travel 0.5 miles. It goes without saying that without the welfare state he would perish.

Yeah, all the deals these apps throw at you are deliberately ranged to make it feel like you’re getting a good deal, but obviously they’re still milking you, they wouldn’t be making income if they gave you an actual better deal.
I’ve seen too many people that think the membership is a bargain too. You’re basically incentivizing yourself to use the app even more.

I honestly don't know how they can afford it. They must have so much credit card debt. The few times I've used Uber eats they missed things from my order. Are these people so cucked that they think that's acceptable? Yeah you can get a refund but it takes a week for you to get your money back and it doesn't solve the problem of "I'm missing my food that I was going to eat". Then Uber sends you passive aggressive emails about "we noticed you have had a few refunds lately. Here's how you can avoid this in the future". How about you don't forget my food instead?

Even if you eat fast food every meal it's legitimately cheaper and easier to just drive and get it yourself. If they forget something then you are right there and you can get a replacement.

My only guess as to the quality of the people addicted to these apps is they are passive soyboys who can't drive as opposed to someone who can drive but just didn't feel like it on this occasion

Just about every e-panhandler I've come across is one of these. Including a cow I follow, who will make posts on their Tumblr literally saying, "can someone plz send me some money so I can get some Uber Eats?" Followed by some weak sympathy bait about how she essentially starved herself on purpose, along with the typical 'muh mentals' excuses. Imo, it's the ultimate sign of being spoiled and weak.

You'll notice doordashing is a common endstage lolcow behavior here on the farms.

It's a terrible habit to get into, and I almost see it as being in the same category as drug use in terms of being expensive and shamelessly hedonistic. If they made some type of service where these people could just sit on the sofa while the driver entered the house and wordlessly served the food directly to them they'd probably take that as well just to diminish any conscious thought between the urge to eat and food entering mouth.

All that extra expense, having someone prepare the food, then someone else pick up the food, then gas and motor vehicle wear and tear...all to deliver a single meal because someone can't even manage the self discipline to feed themselves. It's deranged.

The only time I've ever had it not feel absurd is when a bunch of people are working on something and it saves anyone in the group from needing to stop and go out to get something, or when you're hanging out at home with a group drinking and nobody wants to/is able to pick food up. So I guess that's a little like drinking/drugs too: if you're doing it once in a while in a group that's ok, if you find yourself habitually doing it by yourself it means you probably need to get yourself in check.

When I see these people, I wish I ordered out for every meal... because then I could just stop doing that and be rich. Maybe I should start putting $20 in an envelope every time I heat up some leftovers.

The claims that disabled people need restaurant meals delivered and to say otherwise is oppressive--I wish the online Left conducted purges for non-identitarian reasons. These people are obviously CIA plants put on Twitter to cause bad PR for the glorious People's Revolution.

I dug up an old post I wrote. These food delivery businesses have never been profitable:
I'd like to mention the woes of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) now. It's so amusing to see the daring capitalists, who believe themselves to be above the law when it becomes inconvenient, begin to cry out for government assistance when a bank run happens. Silicon Valley is supposed to be all about disruption, but I suppose it hits differently when they're affected. For an example of what I mean, here's an article describing how Y Combinator darling DoorDash commits mass fraud while predating on small restaurants (archive). Oh, and it's important to note DoorDash and these similar businesses are still unprofitable.

The gist of this is DoorDash pretends to be a restaurant or to have a business relationship with a restaurant, and then siphons away people who would've called or visited directly. This, understandably, negatively impacts the business that now has dissatisfied customers who are accustomed to the artificially-low prices set by DoorDash. This restaurant in particular was owned by someone who knew someone who knew about this disgusting nonsense, however, and he established that the restaurant owner can get some of that venture capital used to attract customers and grow for himself:

They do this with impunity, because they know small business are either ignorant of their criminal trademark violations, or too small to be able to stop them. This is an example of how they want those nasty laws to get out of their way, for progress.
These businesses are run by scum.

I have only used a food delivery service once in an Airbnb in an unfamiliar city at 2 am while too intoxicated to drive safely after a concert and even then I felt like a lazy asshole.

My neighbors started getting McDonald's doordashed for breakfast every Sunday morning during covid. I have seen this guy driving alone in his car with a mask on to/from his job at a grocery store, which pretty much sums up the kind of person who gets McDonald's doordashed for breakfast.

Grandpa was right when he said eating out for breakfast is for suckers. I wonder what that makes people who get it via DoorDash?

I forever have that metokur quote in regards to the CHAZ debacle repeating rent free in my head.
"I now understand why Stalin had to kill so many fucking people."

I said it in a different thread, but that's one solace I'll have when that Revolution happens. I'll still be going to my "essential worker" job, just longer hours and via the People's Bus, but we'll be driving past a chain gang of people with grown-out dangerhair digging trenches.
