For future reference, you can decline any vaccine you want

Something like close to 80% of the population got vaxxed so most people just gave up honestly. I got lucky and didn't end up having to get it, but I know dudes who got kicked out of the military for it. The powers that be won in the end.
Can we trust those numbers though? It may have been inflated to create a false consensus. In addition the powers that be may have won a battle in terms of making a shit load of money, but they lost a lot of trust that they won’t be able to use ever again.

This is a very boomer thread.
You don't need some special magic stratagem like a sovereign citizen to get out of a vaccine, it is not legally mandated.

Just don't take it.
No one was forced during the chingchong scare, no one. People were pressured and threatened, sure, a lot caved, but all you had to do was... nothing.
Don't go to the vaccination center, don't talk about it, don't take it.

My wife did not take it because she feared more to disappoint me than she feared the disapproval of her friends and colleagues and she was surprised once everything was over how easy it was to just not comply.
Don't talk about it, if people ask you, you can simply not engage and... that's it. Life goes on.

I think it's true that a lot of trust for authorities and institutions has been damaged, sure.

But how permanent is it? How many people will still remember this in 10 or 20 years and be able to spot something like it happening again? Versus how many people will just slide comfortably back into normal life and blindly obey authority the next time it starts banging on their door with a list of demands?

That legitimately worries me. The most common personality types have a natural predisposition to obey authority figures.

The military and a lot of hospitals required it; probably others. You can choose to acknowledge that fact or choose to be a mealy-mouth simp who will give some answer like "Yeah, but you weren't dragged to take it against your will, you could just resign!"

My job tried to require it as well.
I didn't resign (that would be dumb), I didn't made a scandal, I never refused to take it, I didn't make any noise that would've have forced them to do something about it to keep face.

I just did nothing. Days passed, then months, then no one cared. I was never fired, and nothing happened. I am part of the 20% of the country that never took the vaccine, all I had to do was nothing.
Granted, I know that some people were fired in healthcare or military circles, well, that's the price to pay for passively resisting and taking care of your health I suppose. It was a choice to make, you either take the potential poison, or potentially get fired and have to find another job.

Still yes, no one was forced. Sorry you have trouble accepting that you bent the knee.

Remember, doctors have sworn the Hippocratic oath(which is to do no harm), and they MUST honor it.
No they don’t. They haven’t sworn it for years. They take something called the declaration of Geneva and sometimes they are allowed to make their own up. Medical ethics rang down the curtain and joined the choir invisible some time ago.

It’s not worth getting on anyone’s radar for going on about foetal cells. Most doctors won’t have a clue what’s in the shot, it’s ’the Shit in the vial, I inject xml’ or at best ‘dilute whole vial with xml saline and inject x ml into arm.’
You just smile and say no thank you. Then leave. If your doctor wants to have an argument you can have one but most here have eight minutes to get you in and out and they don’t have time and can’t be arsed.
‘I’ll think about it, but not today, got a lot on and I need to go, cheers.’ He ticks the box he asked and you both go about your day

My job also required the shots. We were told that refusal ‘would equal disciplinary measures and termination.’ We were nagged endlessly about it. HR sent increasing shrill emails. Deadlines were given. You will be fired on feb 19th without a vax card uploaded to the portal. HR called us and pressured us. Experts (lol) were brought in to assure pregnant women that they should take it. I just didn’t reply to any of it.
When my boss apologetically called me I told him cheerfully that I wouldn’t be getting it, and that if they wanted to fire me they could go ahead, and I’d sue them. I’d lose of course, but I would sue. He wasn’t in charge of pushing it, I told him I knew that but he could take it back to whomever told him to call me that I wouldnt be taking it. If they needed a religious exemption send me the forms. If you’re going to fire me I’ll need a reason in writing.
Few months later and nobody ever spoke of it again. About 25% of my division left, half a dozen died of suddenly or were injured by TIAs or CV events, and then they were whinging about not being able to find people. Can’t say I have any sympathy

That's the issue, coercion by the government and employers ruined lives. Just because some of us stood up to it doesn't make it better. Also as a friendly reminder of how absurd this whole thing was from the very beginning:
