I think that I speak for the community when I say this, as an autistic person I hate change.

On a serious note, the biggest thing that is bothering me is too much contrast between the text and the BG, and not enough space/styling to differentiate different parts of the forum.

I see that as I was playing with styling to get a feel of what I would like changed the background color was brightened, which helps. Another change I would do is give the avatar block its own separate background color and a border. Another is add more empty space between the various elements on the top of a thread to break them up more and make it less of a stack of text.

Ignore the coloring as thats changed between me making this and posting it, but the way the avatar blocks are handled and the spacing of the stuff at the top of the thread is what I am talking about:
