I'm not sure if he's a total lolcow yet, but George Lucas has, in the past few years, been saying things that seem almost demented. Most recently and controversially, he compared Disney buying Star Wars to "white slavery," whatever that means. Keep in mind that the sale was his idea, and he made four billion dollars off it.
... ... ... ... ...? So What the fuck is his problem, then?! Does he want 4 billion more dollars?!
Apparently, he was upset that he had given Disney some Episode VII ideas, but they didn't use any. And I can empathize with that, but there'd certainly be a better way of putting it...
You mean this story? Corey had a couple of responses as well according to thisThe stadium(?) actually apologized for his performance. True story.
I think Lucas was always a bit lolish about his "ideas" and the only reason the original SW was such a hit was that they were on a (comparative) shoestring budget so a lot if his ideas got canned under the "there's no way to do that" or "we don't have the budget for that" excuse. once, however, affordable CGI and clout came his way.... we got Jar Jar Binks.

Yeah, I get so sick of fans worshiping George and saying what a genius he was. You only have to look at the Prequels to see what could've been if George had had that kind of power when he made the Originals. If that had been the case, Star Wars would be remembered as another crap, campy Flash Gordon rip-off rather than the box office juggernaut it is today. I will say that George is a good businessman so he is mostly responsible for Star Wars being a merchandising bonanza but beyond that and the initial spark of the story, the success of Star Wars has virtually nothing to do with him.Yea Lucas is a one trick pony, not even a original one seeing as how his cashcow Starwars is a rip off of Akira Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress (and even then is had to be extensively rewritten by Alan Dean Foster to make it into a barely working script). His whole carrier has been a rather long lucky streak by being able to meet the right person at the right time who was able to carry him when he was flaing around not really knowing what to do. Hell his Other cashcow indiana jones wasn't even his idea Stephen Spelberg gave him the idea and even then others had to push the crazy train in the right direction, and keeping his bad ideas from ending up in the final cut to a bare minimum or better still on the cutting room floor.
The best example of this is that the best films in all of his franchises are the ones he was least involved in be it from a directorial and editing standpoint (empire strikes back) or from a script writing standpoint, and the worst ones are the one he has the most involvement in (Return of the Jedi & Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
The only thing that keeps his name attached to so many franchises is because he demands Producer and Executive Producer credits on any film he's even tangentially involved in, an sadly because of his name cropping up so much he tends to get his way.
The only reason that he's seeming more like a exceptional individual now is because he's finally isolated himself from the people he surrounded himself with that made him look "great" so they are not there to keep him inline, and I'm glad he's feeling but hurt over Starwars he has't really earned the fawning and worship he's got.

Thank God.Apparently, he was upset that he had given Disney some Episode VII ideas, but they didn't use any.
I'm pretty neutral on Lucas myself. I don't think he's either a perfect saint or a tyrant who took credit for things he probably wasn't due for. He's just a guy who's probably far better at ideas than execution, which makes him... well, human. That said, I'll definitely keep watch to see if he says anything else embarrassing, as there could definitely be funny lying thataway.
I think he's kind of a douche who was in the right place at the right time for lightning to strike once (original SW trilogy), and managed not to fuck it up that time, but has much less talent than he thinks.
Most of the success of the first SW films were because of other people (like Kasdan and Kershner) who he had the sense not to interfere with. When he decided he was an auteur of some sort the results were awful.
So George Lucas thinks that Disney is whoring Star Wars out like a pimp.
