Joss Whedon was always a lolcow and an overrated one-hit wonder even before he crashed and burned

Christmas might be over, but it's never too late to periodically remind people that Kirk Cameron unleashed this abortion unto the world

Carrot Top

I think there's a story behind this one.

Does Carlos Mencia count? Or is he still somehow relevant?
I feel like he was groomed to be the replacement for Chappelle's show via Mind of Mencia, which kinda sucked.
Later, once that ran its course, I remember hearing that he blatantly stole jokes in his stand up shows, and people even posted videos of that on Youtube.

Mencia definitely counts, if only for getting owned by Joe Rogan of all people and this was before Joe Rogan was the centrist podcaster dude.

Dane Cook is a borderline example. He was generally considered one of the worst comedians of the 2000's alongside fellow joke thief Carlos Mencia and was even more unfunny and somehow an even bigger untalented hack (seriously, Dane Cook couldn't even make the jokes he stole from others funny) and his career was largely astroturfed by Comedy Central execs and MySpace teens

I think the only reason why Dane Cook wouldn't be considered a lolcow today is because he eventually knew when his fifteen minutes of fame were over and quietly fucked off. IIRC, he tried to transition to movies around 2010 or so, but that didn't pan out.

I'm not carrot historian but I've absorbed some of the story here and there over the years. He was a prop comic, so a hack comic, he knew this and IMO it was clearly a part of his act. He was heckled by many people including comedians for this but a comedian in goofy clothes on stage is a character so maybe it didn't hurt him as a person(he's been around for 30 years or so). But then it got personal: they went hard on his looks and physical appearance and masculinity, he was a spindly ginger, he looked like a girl, a lesbian and the jokes weren't funny anymore.

I can kind of see the lesbian thing.

He's said publicly that these attacks were the reason he went hard into working out to change his appearance and become Swole Top.

Don't know how much I believe either side of this story but this amateur comic who does a lot of small acting parts claimed when she met him he made a bunch of cringey and pervy asian jokes.
He's also another recipient of Trump Derangement syndrome demanding revenge against half the country that made him iffy over twitter. Calling him a comedian is like calling Gawker employees journalists. He's obviously got connections that help him go on, but he's not funny and comes across as the creep in the office who is always staring at womens butts overtly and thinks no one knows.

Supposedly she's an extremely high-priced dominatrix. She played one in a movie, and she got hooked.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned Mike Love yet. He's a well documented asshole, who sued his cousin Brian Wilson trying to claim songs that weren't his. There's his famous "stick to the fucking formula" qoute and his backing of Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign and his reelection campaign. He also once tryed to sue Brian for using the Beach Boys name in a promotional CD made for Brian Wilson presents Smile album. Mike's wife recalled that Mike said to Brian, "you better start writing a real big hit because you’re going to have to write me a real big check". It was dismissed in court on the grounds that it was without merit.

As I said before, there's quite a lot of shit that this guy has done out there.

I'm not much of a Beach Boys fan but I liked Peter Bagge's article he wrote about them back in 2001.
