Alex Dunne isn’t a nog but he sure acts like one. Man throws a fit every fucking race
He's Irish so just a white nog. I'm surprised we haven't had any F2 races cancelled for all the drain covers around the track going missing the night before the race.

Changes to F1 rules from Miami approved.

Let's see if any of this actually does improve the crap 2026 rules.

am i reading this right? a fucking anti-bottle start rubberband mechanic? :story: my nigga we are going full need for speed(TM) with this one

so now the drivers have to remember how much power the electric motor is allowed to produce in certain parts of the track and adjust their driving accordingly? im sure that wont have any unexpected results at all.

the clownshow continues, here we fix retardation with even more retardation hoping it cancels out

Tin foil hat noncery: maybe Max was right and F1 is headed more towards being Formula E, so the cars are slower and gentler so we can have more lady drivers on the grid.

Wouldn't have thought about that except I've been seeing a suspicious number of articles pop up on my feed about the "groundbreaking" test at Mercedes with Doriane Pin and her F1 aspirations.

Lame theory, but lamer things have happened in the last 10 years.

Even the best of the ladies struggle against average males in lower categories, the only racing that ladies tend to do good in is rally because it's a time attack as opposed to aggressive racing.

I think they're trying to get it so dumbed down even celebrities can compete in high level racing for the ratings.

Which - they're not even honest about it. F1 Academy, as I understand it, is using F4 cars. F1 Academy probably wouldn't exist if you had to wait on a sufficient number of women who can hack it at F2, but Doriane is 22, doesn't even have a superlicense, and instead of being an active driver, is a development driver.

It would be one thing if she hit all the marks, but if she were a man, no one would give her a second look as an F1 prospect. That's where my theory comes from - that if women can't hit the marks, you change the marks.

The funny part is I bet they'd try to cram one into the big show except they know they'd have to change or remove the 107% rule to do it - and they know that'd be way too blatant.

If there's a woman capable of driving in F1, she's more likely to be an autistic girl who's addicted to iRacing than a F1 Academy driver.

The only two successful female racing drivers I can think of are Sabine Schmitz (RIP) and Michele Mouton, so the hypothesis that women aren't all that suited to aggressive racing checks out.

Sabine's career is a perfect example. Her touring car career was a fizzer (just two seasons 20 years apart, where she came dead last in both seasons), yet she racked up multiple 24 Hours of Nurburgring wins, and set a Nurburgring lap record for vans.

Then there's Michele. Some consider to be the GOAT female racing driver, and she just happened to race in rally.

Michele's most famous quote is worth considering: "I prefer a perfect right foot to a pretty face". F1's current priority seems to be the other way around.

Hooray for the media turning drivers into celebrities. I'd be thrilled if we had a grid of 20 drivers that weren't pretty, but were absolute animals that didn't have the time or the patience for media day bullshit (somehow I'm not a Max stan, but I respect Fernando and even Lance a bit for their inability to look like they give a shit when faced with stupid questions; I hope after this one, Carlos joins the "I don't give a shit" gang; I watch this garbage because I'm shameless about my thirst trap tendencies).

But because social media is a thing, this is what we get.

"I prefer a perfect right foot to a pretty face".
See, this is a woman I respect, because she understands that sport is sport and celebrity is celebrity. The fact is, you couldn't be in F1 as a woman, or wouldn't make it very far if you were the kind of woman that could succeed, because you'd be roided up, have a thick neck, and not nearly enough sense of humor to fit in with the image of the typical F1 driver.

Though given the loll we are in rn, I figured a good question and what if I had for everyone whose familiar with F1 history, what if Colin Chapman, the owner of Lotus had not died in his early 50s, could they have found a proper successor and better yet, could they have remained at the forefront of innovation and championship contention?

I somewhat doubt it. It's hard to follow up on a genius. And the phenoms that come up internally often leave because the Old Man's in the way of their own ambition.

Outside of Ferrari, hasn't every F1 team in the last 40 years had what effectively is a forced change of ownership?

Williams and McLaren both lost their way and are not being run by their former figure head's preferred options.

How long will Redbull be around for? Maybe another 10 years?

It is very difficult to remain technically and financially viable in F1.
