I keep being too dead to work on shit this season and friends not being online or in contact when I'm grinding also doesn't help. My ass is only level 40-something and it's pissing me off.

Anyways I caved to micro-transaction shit over some new skin thing that for some reaosn was only bundled for one day or some shit because while it's not the most elaborate thing my bomberman autism kicked in. Obviously not blaming this on autism because that'd be gay as hell, I have complete control of my spending. Who the fuck do you think I am, jim sterling?

Compare these three to the image below them.

It has a pickaxe that's just gloves that look like the bomberman act zero redesign shit. I'm not a fan of the thing fortnite does where it comes out with a neat wacky blatant homage skind esign but then puts it on a weirdly plain body with default ass gloved hands. THey should have been at least smaller versions of the big robot hands or larger boots, but it seems like one of those" combine all the designs so nobody notices we copied" type of things.

It's not even the first time they've blatantly done a "bomberman but not" design!

I'd have gotten this guy if I had money when they had him in the shop for like a day and he had a bundle attatched to him or something. Sorry I am not paying 15 dollars for a skin with nothing but the guy himself. Fortnite seems really adamant about splitting shit for max microtransaction cash after bundling it ONCE and that always pisses me off.

The new one's a bit neater in a sense because the eyes actually blink and emote because it's a robot and not a criminal wearing a bomberman mask... However the new one also vaguely alludes to being a criminal of some kind... Both are black bombers too... Hmmmm...
There's also a cel shaded glider that was part of one of the season passes that's literally just bomberman's head with rabbit ears glued to the sides of it i can't remember the name of right now. As in like "white and black variant and unaltered bomberman face" type stuff.

EDIT: Just realized the new one's face hole's shape is literally the same as several of the villains from the games too. Well more than several. A lot of em.

Right, think I'm basically done with Fortnite at this point. None of the BR modes at this point feel all that fun to play; every game, including Blitz, is crammed full of tryhards that constantly sweat their little asses off to win the match (OG in particular), and I'm pretty sure I've encountered a few cheaters on Blitz as well. Got to the point where I couldn't even land and grab a chest without immediately getting beamed from some guy with a golden shotgun or AR. Other game modes aren't all that great either at this point; STW's pretty much abandoned, Rocket Racing is dull, LEGO is boring, and while the music stuff is cool, I'd like for there to be an artist that I'd actually like - tried of all the crap "pop" artists.

Cosmetics are all boring as well; shops are all boring as can be, and I've already got a decent chunk of stuff that I like to use, so about 99% of the stuff that the game tries to sell just doesn't appeal. Didn't even bother buying any of the passes for this season; there was a few things that I was interested in, but... when would I actually end up using it? Particularly since the game is so frustrating to play at this point that I genuinely don't even want to do anything on it. At this point, the only thing that really interests me is collecting the Victory Umbrellas from winning matches, and even then that's not exactly a long-term investment.

So yeah; unless the game manages to really bring something genuinely new and fun to the table - which I thought would be Blitz, but sadly not - then I'm basically done with the game. I do hope the devs can get something good going again, but if not...

You unintentionally reminded me of how I've been seeing weird aggressive comments calling skins "ugly" for having stuff like "bulbous heads" or just being large at all in any area and you can smell the kind of skins the poster uses in game. Been seeing a real downturn with actual fun skins being used the last year or 2 and more and more just fucking uhhhh...

God It's so fucking satisfying killing entire teams of these fuckers. They usually seem to have some kinda aimbot that hones in on your head so you get fucking lasered from across the map by a whole squad of people with skins like this in the span of a second. I ran into ONE of those kinds of teams that was just using the superman skin which I found surprising for obvious reasons and beating them actually won me and a friend the match in duos. I'm betting they didn't take their loss as "actually fucking play instead of camping and beaming people and just are now back to using these fucking things as skins.

I think it says something when my only win so far this season was in zero build duos where we managed to hold it out against the sweats who were likely some of the only human players in the match because they keep fucking cramming the game with retarded bots in matchmaking.

EDIT: Bots in particular got me a special kind of angry because they make going to areas no sane person would to do story quests for xp and shit or competitive advantage would go. I head to an unpopulated area and either 3 or 4 bots glide in down around me or seem to spring out of the ground without landing trying to shoot me from across the map before anyone's even fucking landed.

Yeah, most skins these days just look and feel incredibly dull; there's no real reason to use any of them, since none of them really look visually interesting or even unique. Even Chapter 5 had some cool stuff - my current main in Oscar - but all of the current stuff feels so "safe" and dull that there's just no reason to use any of it.

What is that second skin, anyway? Seen a few people using it myself, but I never could tell what it's supposed to be.

Blitz is getting more and more of those, I've noticed; had a few matches where people would just instantly lock onto your head with a shotgun and auto-kill you, usually while jumping around at random angles and being impossible to really hit.

Seriously, how much of a shit player do you have to be to cheat at Blitz?

I've managed to get wins in just about all of the gamemodes - Normal BR, Blitz, and OG - and I can confirm that the game has gotten BAD at this point. OG in particular you'll be lucky if you can even play, because there's so many sweats and even really strong bots that'll kill you the moment you land. Seriously, I haven't even been able to break OG's Top 50 in over a month because of this.

Doesn't help that they're so inconsistent; sometimes they're free kills, other times you get the Terminator.

customizable superhero skin, specifically the female masked one. One of the earlier generic fortnite "not based on anything with a lot of custom colors" kind of skins they put out. sweats and hackers started using just the pure black on black combo enough that it got banned frome use but they just switched to dark gray on dark gray after.

other times you get the Terminator.
Even the terminator ones are retarded movement wise which makes it hurt more when they suddenly laser-headshot you like it's nothing.

Didn't get fucked out of the event for once (wow!) but shit was laggy as hell and the lobby was full of bots and sweats trying to kill me before, during, and after the fact. Didn't complete the break the targets quest thing due to that. The static png characters interrupting gameplay felt lazy and poorly implimented. We only got like 3 of them showing up and making the bossfight we already were doing alright against go faster than it probably should have. Game glitched afterwards too and I didn't even get any of the xp from the target thing. level 70 or whatever now. it's been hell this season.

Nothing says "fuck you" like getting insta-killed by poor coding. Seriously, I can appreciate a challenge, but this game... it's artificial difficulty.

Didn't get a chance to go to the event; it started right as I was having to leave for work. Sounds like it was rough.

Yeah, this whole season has been glitchy as crap; another reason why I gave up on this. Most of the game, I couldn't even complete any quests because certain things just weren't spawning or progress wasn't ever getting tracked, and it was honestly pretty sad because I was pretty invested in the story. Coupled with the gameplay constantly catering to sweats and bots, and I finally called it quits since I first joined back in Chapter 4; might pop back in to grab the Victory Umbrellas for my collection, but other than that? I've got better things to do.

For the event, they had dozens of respawning targets you could shoot at while waiting for the event to start. Each time a target was shot, it would drop some legendary weapons and ammo. Because there were so many, everybody was fully geared and maxxed out on ammo within about two minutes. That meant that thousands of guns and bullet were just accumulating on the ground, causing massive fucking lag.

I haven't had that problem. Bots are usually pretty easy to kill. You need to reevaluate how you approach the game if you're constantly getting ganked by bots.

Just for instance, if I'm landing at a location, I will land either next to a chest or next to a weapon. Going without some protection is suicide.

Apparently, Epic didn't bother to playtest the event...

It's not constant; bots are more of an annoyance, though I will openly state that I have gotten killed by some surprisingly strong bots previously. As I said above, they usually tend to be free kills, but there's been some points where the bots would suddenly be able to one-shot me from full with a green Shotgun from a fair distance; mostly in OG, though I have dealt with some pretty weird moments in Blitz as well. That said, I tend to have more issues with other players; seems that there's even more sweats than normal around these days, and it's gotten to the point where the game just isn't fun anymore.

Anyways, there's been some more details dropped about next season over the past few days; like some of the older leaks have been saying, the upcoming season is bug/alien invasion-themed, though the Battle Pass doesn't seem to have a consistent theme this go around. From the looks of things, we'll be getting female SPARTANS from Halo, some of the Power Rangers, and that panda lawyer skin from the surveys.

Anyways, here's a trailer for the upcoming season:

Right, new season dropped, re-installed the game to grab a few quick wins, and... honestly, it's not even fun at this point. Sweats are out in force, unsurprisingly, and it's basically impossible to go anywhere without immediately getting killed off by some kiddie that found the new instant-kill rocket launcher, or get merked by someone using some weird movement. Couldn't even win a single match; I might jump back into the game sometime in September, but otherwise? Can't recommend the season at all.

Hot damn, explosives actually work again? Baetter get on and investigate before they get nerfed into unusable piddly nothing damage because a sweat couldn't camp in peace.

They put more effort into the trailer than the season.
It seems the main focus of the trailer once again isn't int he battlepass for the fucking battlepass trailer.

Also they REALLY need to stop putting half the battlepass into a "bonus" area that requires several levels each unlock. What the fuck am I paying for if half the vbucks and the default versions of skins are locked behind the supposed "bonus" before you can even get to the actual bonus shit 4 or 5 pages in?

Truthfully, yes; in fact, they're a bit overpowered, as the new Swarm Launcher is not only a near-guaranteed one-shot, but it also has a VERY fast travel time and plentiful ammo. Granted, it's not quite the real issue; rather, its the sweats and the ridiculous movement this season, as it gets frustrating not even being able to get a fair gunfight because some kiddie is flying around with a shockwave launcher. Or using hacks; yes, I've encountered quite a few cheaters this season already, including people using aim hacks and flying - one was a Master Chief that was hopping around in a weird spiral pattern locking onto my head with a shotgun.

As for the rest of the new stuff; well, the bugs are a fun new PvE element... when sweats aren't taking advantage of them to shoot other players in the back. The new weapons are cool, like the shotgun revolver, though you're not going to get a chance to use them when half the lobby instantly beams you before you even land from the bus. New POIs are also kinda neat, though I am a bit sad that Crime City and Lonewolf Lair are both gone; those were my favorite areas.

Yea, this season feels extremely lazy; I feel like it would honestly be a bit more fun if it wasn't for all of the sweats, but so far it just feels a LOT more dull than the previous seasons.

It's Epic; they care more about draining peoples' wallets then they do about making things fun.

The skins seem to be connected in the pass in a way that I think was the intended "lore" thing before the power rangers crossover thing happened and took center stage. Almost all of them are part of a 3 letter organization that seems to be investigating the bug invasion going by the context clues i'm seeing in the item unlocks which is probably what should have taken center stage.

Also I'm shocked they have a badge emote now given how they removed police cars and police themed stuff from the game a few years ago.

The drop-off in quality for Fortnite initially was quite slow. Chapter 2 had some holes, but fuck, compared to now, it looks masterful. There is no incentive for GAMEPLAY only skins.

I haven't played the new one yet but last season had fun gameplay with the various gimmick weapons. They thankfully didn't feel nerfed into unusability but I think at some point they get nerfed to near-useless unless specific instance level. For example sonic boom damage quest was a bitch to do because it only did piddly shit damage even at point blank range when I finally got around to trying it. You have a burst attack with violent knockback and it just does 15-25 damage per shot? SERIOUSLY? It ended up just being a glorified slightly weaker version of the fucking bounce/impulse/shockwave grenades. It didn't stop me from using the things though. Also was weird to me how they arbitrarily split up the bird powerup into two items you needed to get both of in your inventory. At least you could still use them separately from each other.

We do have some story quests coming up; pretty good chance that this new organization might end up being more relevant there? Honestly, I am still genuinely curious on the lore and plot, even though the gameplay is killing my braincells.

There's actually been a LOT of people wanting the police-related stuff back in the game; even the OG sweats have brought it up. Admittedly, given how left-leaning Epic seems to be these days, it's unlikely we'll be getting anything back...

Seriously, even my mentally-challenged ass is noticing the drop in quality of Fortnite these days, and I tend to be rather casual with my entertainment; hell, I had more fun with Ruff Trigger - a PS1 game that's got a LEGENDARY reputation for being bad - than the current state of Fortnite. That's just pathetic, Epic!

I haven't played the new one yet but last season had fun gameplay with the various gimmick weapons.

The gimmick weapons were kinda fun - the dual revolvers were a personal favorite of mine - though why Epic kept nerfing them is beyond me. Yeah, it was obviously because the sweats were crying about their precious "meta" changing, but when using these gear pieces was tied to certain things like quest progression...

It's not like they were ever even "overpowered" in the first place; careful placement and paying even the slightest bit of attention could easily counter just about all of them. If anything, people trying to rely on them made for easy kills, won multiple BR matches just by using a basic shotgun vs. the various gadgets.

Sadly, it's looks like all of the fun stuff is gone; yes, there's the new rocket launcher, but it's liable to catch a nerf before long - not like it's fun to use anyway, what with the amount of cheaters and sweats in the game anyway. None of the other stuff is all that good, either; there's a bug gauntlet - can't remember the name - that charges up to fire an energy blast, but it sucks, and the ballistic weaponry is all fairly normal as well. Just doesn't feel like there's much of an identity this season.

Double-post, but... against my better judgement and after some encouragement from a few people I know, I ended up jumping back into Fortnite. Shockingly enough, I actually managed to grab both Umbrellas tonight, BR and the OG one right after; left me share my thoughts on this season:

Namely, BR is even more fucked than I thought. Aside from just about all of the issues I mentioned above, I also discovered that the new boss medallions for this season are both easy-to-get, and RIDICULOUSLY strong. If you land and kill one of the super-weak boss bugs around the map, you can get one of several medallions; these include increasingly your speed and jump strength, the ability to hop and consume no stamina with well-above-average air control, and regenerating shields. Combine all three, and you've near-guaranteed your victory unless you get sloppy, as no one will be able to hit you and you can basically jump up mountains with little difficulty - only reason why I won my match was because the other player got distracted fighting some bugs, and I still nearly lost because of this game's crap car driving.

Seriously, if I ever hop back into BR this season, it'll be solely to complete the quests; I want nothing to do with this gameplay.

Conversely, and shockingly enough; OG Season 5 is actually pretty solid. Yes, you do have a few sweats, but the game mode feels a lot more fun, and I actually enjoyed being able to hop in and wander around the island looking for stuff again. There is still the possibility that the sweats might hop back on and ruin it, but so far I'm actually having some fun with it again.

EDIT: Looks like Epic is nerfing a lot of the guns and such in BR already. Thoughts?

EDIT 2: BR Story is admittedly looking fairly interesting; joining the O.X.R., doing some missions, and figuring out where, exactly, the bugs are rifting into the island from the Spirit World. Nothing terribly major, but it's fairly serviceable; only really difficult part about any of it is actually killing the bugs, given how eager everyone is to shoot each other in the back this season. At least the Wrecker Revolver is still solid, and the O.X.R. Rifle is also pretty good.
