I miss the Turk Dance. I dropped Fortnite years ago, and haven't kept up with it. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.

we had that. it was called gtav, and it is maybe unintentionally an excellent marking point for when the world seems to have decided history should stop.

the moratorium on fortnite in my family (and even some extended family) has gone over surprisingly well. everyone just moved to play other shit, even the little gen alphas.

GTA5 was more contemporary unlike San Andreas. But maybe I misunderstood you so I'll say that maybe GTAV is in a way, right now, what San Andreas was back then.

it's a look back at what the era that game was set in is like, 2013. in being that, it reveals that the outward image of society that was being parodied in 2013 has basically not changed in 11 years. i do agree that gtav now still represents what 10 years ago was like, but GTAV didn't come out now, it came out 10 years ago, and it still represents the modern day just as well.

Agree. But I had a thought. Easy-E died 9 years before SA came out and his character is iconic in that game. Who else died nine years ago that they could make iconic these days? Soon to be Harambe, I guess.

This like boomer levels of outrage. No one is gonna kill you for crip walking. And if you do get killed for crip walk it's cause your involved in actual crip shit like gangbangin or trappin and got caught lacking as the kids say. Meaning you was crip walking in public and your opps(bloods/other gang/gangs) saw that shit and took it as incentive to bip you(kill u with a gun) but again you probably was already beefing with the gang in the first place or have other various indicators that you are affiliated with gang like indivuals like hanging out in certain neighborhoods with gang members. Little white kids learn to crip in dance classes these days. They just call it shuffling or some version of shuffling. Crip walking main stream and gentrified. Hence the fortnite. You only dying over it if you already a crip in the first place and you knew better than to be doing that shit in the first place. Even if you a civilian in gangland you'd know better. It's actually been in game for a while. I missed it in the shop a while back and I'm surprised they didn't bring it back for this snoop event. If you look in the trailer for the new season there's a bit where snoop gets hit with the forced emote bomb thing and start doing that dance.
You can tell by the royalty free music this was from before the constant collabs.

If you've been paying attention to gaming shitposts the last several years you'd know it was technically a thing already though I don't think they have it in the shop cycle lmao. Galactus was sadly never made playable even in tiny form so this will never be real. I can't find the OG upload of this one anymore, just reuploads that say "GALACTUS MEME"

I think with all the crossover fortnite stuff puts in it's really less aiming solely at zoomers and mor e like the 17-40 something year old demographic which is a wide ass stretchy kind of way to do stuff but it seems to be working for them. A lot of the crossovers that aren't music artists are pop culture shit that got big in the 70s-2000s. Thare's also a ton of hidden shit/autistic levels of story/lore that's generally popular with anyone that's not from the ipad kid generation.

The guy they did the first concert with (ironically the chapter 2 map lmao) hasn't hadhis stuff come back to the fortnite shop at all since that concert due to one of his IRL concerts having a crowd crush induced death moment. That one's stuck with me as their general standard for public figure controversy because the guy literally could not have done shit to stop it no matter what people said.
