I'd say Bojangles but they're not near me. I also don't have a good local place, so chains is it. Usually any city has a local place that's better than any chain and costs about the same. For some reason they usually seem to be run by Pakistanis. The giveaway of the good place is there's a long line and you're the only white person in it.

Yo you guys tried Korean Fried Chicken? Fucking fantastic; get the garlic snow fried chicken if you can, or soy if you aren't chicken about being a soy boy. Try toppoki with it if you can.

There's this amazing local fried chicken place up where I used to live. It was hands-down the juiciest chicken with the crunchiest, most flavorful crust I've ever had. Now I have to settle for supermarket fried chicken.

Not all fried chicken is created equal, but even so, to my memory I've never had bad fried chicken. It's incredibly hard to fuck up. Honestly the only way I can think of being able to fuck it up is by overcooking/burning it. All of it I've ever had, from every fast food chain to every supermarket to every local business, it's all fucking delicious.

My favorite was from a small-time family business though.

I fucking love fried chicken (though you’d never guess it looking at my body). Popeye’s is the best big chain, but I’ve rarely had homecooked fried chicken that wasn’t even better than that.
Because it's the only fried chicken fast-food joint in my country (:_(
holy shit I’d probably kms

Even my own skillet fried chicken is better. Even with a generic batter mix. The problem with chains is they are always trying to cut costs and this usually means getting at best second-rate meat.

Anyway all you really need to fry chicken is a good cast-iron skillet, oil (peanut oil is nice), and a batter/breading recipe. Even just breadcrumbs or crushed saltines with some seasoning work. Half-inch deep oil heated to 350 degrees F and go to town.

The correct way of making fried chicken is in the pan, and this is coming from someone who has dabbled in cooking.

@AnOminous speaks the truth. Also, do you prefer your chicken with a squirt of lemon or without a squirt of lemon?

Nah. I might if I just happened to have a slice of lemon sitting there but I'm not going to usually. I'd be more likely to put hot sauce on it.

My school used to serve this really dry fried chicken that was disgusting. The only other times I've seen fried chicken not be great is when the seasonings are done weird. Otherwise, yeah, fried chicken is pretty hard to mess up. Heck, chicken in general is a pretty easy and straightforward meat.
