Male black swans form lifelong bonds only with other male swans, they will only mate with a female swan once and essentially "rape" her then go back to their lifelong male mate.
There's a joke about the autogynophiliac tranny community here. . .

The mega-acclaimed classic film 12 Angry Men was nominated for three Oscars: Best Director (Sidney Lumet), Best Picture, and Best Writing of an Adapted Screenplay. It lost all three to the British film The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Somehow, 12 Angry Men didn't win many awards on the home front (USA). It mostly won at foreign film festivals.

To be fair, this wasn't a huge injustice and both films are absolute classics.

It is Martin Scorsese who has been on the wrong end of the worst Oscars injustices in history. While it is notorious that in 1990, the epic Goodfellas somehow lost Best Picture to Dances With Wolves, of all things, this was just ten years after Raging Bull lost to the barely remembered Ordinary People.

While Taxi Driver also lost in 1976 to Rocky and was the better picture, I don't think this was as serious of an injustice, as Rocky is an excellent film in its own right.

Fucking Pacino got screwed over hard in the 70s. He got nominated for Best Actor for like 4 or 5 movies and he didn't win a single one until Scent of a Woman. And he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in The Godfather despite clearly playing the protagonist. The fact he never won for Serpico is a crime.

Leonardo should've gotten his Oscar for What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

John Cazale only appeared in four movies (The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, The Conversation and Dog Day Afternoon) while he was alive and a fifth (The Deer Hunter) posthumously. All five movies (plus The Godfather Part III, where his character Fredo Corleone appeared in a flashback) were nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

We could spend pages just discussing Oscar injustices. An overview of the awards shows that the films chosen often skew middlebrow progressive that rarely holds up. And the number of actors who have won 'we should have given you one of these before, so this less-than-great film/performance is a stand-in for celebrating your past work' covers everyone from Bette Davis and Kate Winslet to Paul Newman and Russell Crowe.

But another Oscars fact: There have been two ties in the Best Actor/Actress race. The Best Actress award in 1968 went to Katharine Hepburn (her third of four) and Barbra Streisand, for The Lion in Winter and Funny Girl respectively. The Best Actor for 1931/32 was more interesting, because it went to both Wallace Beery for The Champ and Frederic March for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - but they didn't exactly tie. There was a rule in place back then that a tie would occur if the votes were within three of each other, and there was only one vote that separated the two actors, so they both won. The rules have changed since then, so the Best Actress tie was a genuine tie.

There is also only one person who has been nominated for the same role in a film as both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor - Barry Fitzgerald for Going My Way. He only won supporting, but they changed the rules so that wouldn't happen again.

There is also a rumour- unverifiable, sadly - that the original first Best Actor was Rin Tin Tin, but the Academy weighted the votes so that they would have a human win the first award.

Or Martin Scorsese himself, with The Departed, which was hardly his greatest film.

The gene that causes hairless cats and dogs to be hairless is also linked to poor dental health. There's a reason why the hairless dogs at the ugliest dog contest have fucked up or missing teeth.

There are many coat color and markings genes that affect other organs of animals in strange ways.

For example, a large percentage of true white cats with blue eyes (usually light blue) are either blind, deaf, or both.

Another example is the lethal white gene most commonly associated with horses. A white foal (again with blue eyes usually) will be carried to term and appear healthy, but hours later exhibit signs of colic and will die within a few days. This does not happen to all white horses of course. Horses with the frame overo coat color are more likely to pass it on- if two heterozygous frame overos breed then you have like a 90% chance of having a lethal white foal. This is why genetic testing is so important in breeding. A horse may appear to be overo but actually isn't, and so on.

I don't remember the exact specifics but this is "in a nutshell" of lethal white.

Chicken delight was once a chain of 1000 franchise locations, today only 26 remain 20 in Canada and 6 all in the new York metropolitan area and the 6 us restaurants are all operating independent of the chain due to the us branch of the company going defunct in the early 70s.

Think if McDonald's went out of bussiniess but a few franchise owners kept their restaurants open and still used the name and imagery despite that.

I wonder if this is why a pale horse is associated with death, most notably in the Book of Revelation.

No wonder why white people are being decimated around the world. Nature truly hates white things.

One of the main characteristics associated with white people is blue eyes, which all stem from a single ancestor with the mutation some time 6-10,000 years ago. Blue eyes are associated with increased incidences of schizophrenia, depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Nevertheless the gene spread like wildfire, presumably because blue eyes are pretty and people want to fuck people with them.

One theory is that since the gene was both rare and recessive, if you had blue eyes and your mate did, and your children did, odds were good you weren't a cuck and could raise your children in confidence you weren't raising someone else's kids. As with most evolutionary psych theories, this is probably bullshit.

Makes sense, that's why the gypsy women try to fuck blue eyed men, keep the orc horde locked and loaded.

As much as that is a joke it is true(a fun fact!) that some go for the blue eyes and try to get pregnant before returning to the clan, it's some kind of superstition about good fortune but it might also be a way to avoid inbreeding and dismiss cucking by way of superstition when marrying a cousin or something. Gypsies are fucking weird.

Afrikaans is the only language native to Africa that has been used in medical, scientific, and legal contexts. You won't ever hear SJW's say that though, because WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYCIS.

Sydney Greenstreet did not appear in films until his 60s. His first film was The Maltese Falcon, which he won an Oscar for.
Nominated, not won.

Unrelated noir fact - in The Big Sleep, one of the characters gets murdered, but the adapters didn't know who killed him. So they wired the original author, Raymond Chandler, who didn't know either. There's a very plausible theory as to who and why, but it wasn't something the original writer or the screenwriters could figure out.
