some camps in soviet occupied west Germany were still ran by the soviets as "reeducation" camps or gulags. With the most common inmates being sent to them for being homosexual (which was still frowned upon by the Stalinist and even early Khrushchev era USSR) Also in both East and West Germany the only Nuremburg laws that weren't repealed after WWII were laws denying rights to homosexuals, these wouldn't be repealed by an official state legistration on either side of the berlin wall until the 70s.
 
Spiders "fold up" or "curl up" when they die because most of their legs are not powered by muscles like ours - they are instead powered by hydraulic pressure (simplified). They still experience rigor mortis.

Snails are actually quite social. They have shown they generally prefer to eat as a group than alone, for example. Snails kept in captivity have shorter lifespans if kept alone than if they have tank mates.
 
The Rosaceae family of plants is huge, and not only contains the Rosa genus of roses, but also many other genera of temperate-climate fruits and flowering plants such as apples, pears, quinces, plums, peaches, cherries, apricots, raspberries, strawberries, dogwood, hawthorn to name a few.

coincidently, Lester Bangs was played by Philip Seymour Hoffman in Almost Famous. He also died of a drug overdose.
