All birds have lost the gene responsible for tasting sweetness (the T1R2 receptor). You may then wonder how do hummingbirds sense nectar; turns out hummingbirds have repurposed two of their umami receptors, usually used for sensing amino acids and proteins, into detecting sugar. On the other hand, penguins have lost all their umami receptors.

The cerebellum accounts for only a small portion of total mammalian brain volume (slightly less than 10% in humans) but contains by far the most neurons (80% in humans, 97% in elephants). In most mammals similar granule cells also populate around the hindbrain auditory circuit, but in monkeys these hindbrain granule cells become much less numerous and in apes (gibbons, gorillas, chimps, humans) they are absent altogether. It is speculated that the reason maybe that monkeys and apes don't move their external ears to localize sound.

When I was a kid my mom owned a pet store and used to have crazy dog scented shampoo for dogs. I used that stuff for a few years because I loved the green apple and Pina colada scent. It was very strong but no other kids ever made fun of me for smelling like apples. I still have a partial bottle of Pina colada scent that is probably 20 years old,
