The dude who voices Adon in the English dub of the 97’ anime adaption of Berserk is the same dude who voices doctor egg man in the Sonic games.
I didn't see the 97 dub but I did see the Berserk trilogy that came out a few years ago, which brought back the original cast and I was caught off-guard when Adon showed up with Eggman's voice.

Another fun fact, the guy who voiced Guts voiced Zoro in the 4Kids dub of One Piece.

Uncut Gems is currently ranked 9th in the list of most uses of the word "fuck" in a non pornographic film.

Hocus pocus was almost directed by Steven Spielberg, he turned it down because at the time he refused to work with Disney seeing them as competition to his own company amblin entertainment.
Actually Ambiln wasn't the problem, he worked with them on Arachnophobia (Hollywood Pictures first film, one of their subsidiaries at the time)

He was just starting DreamWorks at the time and that's when he said no (the company was co-founded by one of Disney's former CEOs who had it with their policies)

But Spielberg was approached to direct Hocus pocus in the late 80s, not the early 90s, another fun fact the production of Hocus pocus started in 1983 David Kirschner had the idea in mind even earlier having first thought of it as a bedtime story for his daughter in the 70s.

Romanian is one of the five main Romance languages. It is the most forgotten of the five, which is ironic because it literally has "Roman" in the name.

None of the jurors in 12 Angry Men (1957) are alive today. The first one to die was Joseph Sweeney (#9) who died in 1963, and the last was Jack Klugman (#5), who died in 2012.

Absolutely everyone hates Romanians, though. Also Jack Klugman was God.

The Amami Spiny Rat (Tokudaia osimensis) from Japan has lost its Y-chromosome, and with it the Sry gene that initiates male development in other placental and marsupial mammals. For a long time scientists didn't know how male Spiny Rat develop without Sry, and it is only recently discovered that the rat co-opts other zinc-finger transcription factors (and the Sry is itself a zinc-finger protein) for this role.

the piggy bank was invented by a little boy in NE Kansas who was trying to raise money for leprosy research. he chose the pig because it was "an interesting shape"

There was an open world Flash game in development for the Xbox 360 and PS3, being developed by BottleRocket Entertainment. The game's combat system would have been similar to the one from the PS2 game Rise of the Kasai. The game was cancelled due to financial issues involving the game's publisher, Brash Entertainment. Had the game been completed, it would have released in 2009.

There was also a Justice League game being developed by Double Helix Games, and it too was cancelled due to financial reasons.

There is an unofficial rule in "guy code" that states it's ok for men to cry at these scenes in movies.

Old yeller: when the dog dies

E.T. when e.t dies

Field of dreams: when Kevin Costner plays one last game of catch with his dad.

T2: judgment day: when the Terminator sacrifices itself to save humanity

My girl: the kids funeral

Marley and me: when Owen Wilson says goodbye to Marley one last time.

Lake ducks have proportionally massive penises that are shaped like a corkscrew. This makes it more difficult to rape other ducks, with a very low success rate.
It gets worse...
Lake duck hens have additional 'rape protection mechanisms' including
-vaginal openings that corkscrew in the opposite direction
-false vaginas that direct the drake's penis into dead-ends
-sharp turns that act as 'teeth' to the drake's dick
(gives new meaning to 'the wrong hole' amirite?)

additionally I believe the drake's dick falls off after intercourse... but it's only the 'launch mechanism', the actual organ is fine and just makes a new one in 12 months.

Ducks have the weirdest genitals. Seriously fucked up.
an article that confirms most of this. The sad part is that I knew this w/o reading the article... :(

Water is one of the few compounds in nature that expand when frozen - that's why ice skates have a convex 'chamber' between the edges of the blade. The crushed ice makes water that lubes under the skate.

Another material that has this same property is plutonium.

To many of you that ranted about Shakespeare in Love upsetting Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump besting Pulp Fiction for the Best Picture Oscar, I have some awkward news for you.

Paramount is set to buy a stake in Miramax, formerly owned by Disney. This would be the first time a major studio bought a library of a former subsidiary of another major studio.

Without a mucosal lining and/or mucous cells, your stomach would digest itself.

Back in the Atari 2600’s heyday, there were a series of video games released in the 1980s called Swordquest. Divided into the four elements, (Earthworld, Fireworld, Waterworld and Airworld respectively) these games came included with their own comic book that would help the player solve a greater puzzle. Should a player figure out the clues via gameplay and the comic, they would have a chance to win priceless artifacts such as a golden talisman, a jeweled chalice, a crown, and an actual sword.

Unfortunately, due to the video game crash of 1983, the contest was called off and the remaining prizes (Philosopher’s Stone, the crown and the sword) were never found. Waterworld only had a few copies produced (with some being sold today for about $15k) while Airworld was never made.
