Funimation Audio Leaks - Sacred Ointment memes for degenerate teens

My gut feeling at the moment is Toei may not be ready to fully terminate Funimation. But they will insist on changes. Sabat being top of the list.

I feel that's why Nick was making so many pointed statements in the stream about Funimation working with a competitor that had no deal with Toei, et cetera. That was a lawyer speaking to other lawyers.

Toei's lawyers. Because yes, you can be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that Toei's lawyers have watched that stream by now, either their US lawyers or possibly the JP lawyers, with subtitles. Maybe both, in a big conference room.

It's like how if you want to fuck over SJWs, you don't complain to their Customer Service department. That's the first place SJWs target for entryism and gatekeeping, the second being HR.

No, you reach out discretely to a company's general counsel and lay out the legal issues some stupid SocJus trick brings up and ask if they have any comment on any potential changes the company might be making to curtail such problems in the future.

More specifically Funi founder, and at the time sole owner Gen Fukunaga is the nephew (or similar) of one of Toei's top executives. So it was a pure patronage deal originally. But now I believe Gen's Uncle is retired if not dead. Gen sold out to Sony. So the patronage links and protections are no longer in place.

I am hoping :optimistic: for a domino effect here where Gen's departure lets Toei decide they no longer have any reason to keep Funimation, this fucks over Sabat, and without Sabat, TFS is no longer protected either and gets to choke on dick as well.

Does he have band camp or something over the weekend or is he free?

Family stuff, probably going to the hearing and recap it I believe or its next week for the hearing.

Has any of the voice actors freaked out over on Twitter on this?

Rager went private and sean blocked a lbgt fan and a fanboy who mocked "vicstans".

Lmao ANN hasn't covered this story yet (if they even will). One of the more well known sites talking shit about Vic for the last 7 months as soon as news dropped about him and I guess they don't feel like covering this particular mess. Guess they dont wanna make daddy Funi mad or something.

Shut it down

Needless to say, MyAnimeList is simply deleting the threads.

What's so amazing about this is that this is one of the rare times Toei's infamously conservative nature proves itself valuable. Toei as a whole is infamous for going nuclear against almost anything that besmirches its brand, regardless of how petty. Fucking minor fan projects get nuked by Toei all the time, and Team Four Star has been in running bouts with them for years over DBZ Abridged. Toei absolutely is this petty, this vindictive, and this defensive of its brand, and if this does cause Funimation to lose the license, my fucking sides will be in permanent geosynchronous orbit.

And it's rumored that Vic was hand picked by toei themselves. You don't fuck with a sacred cow.

Tbh, I think that's exactly what happened. Vic not only voiced Broly in the DBZ films that featured the character, he voiced Broly in the DBZ games as well. The dub of the first movie was released in 2003, so to many American fans, Vic IS Broly. And Broly was extremely popular with American DB fans.

It would a smart move on Toei's part. They likely knew that Vic reprising the role would guarantee the movie's success. This movie raked in a fuckton of money and I'm willing to bet that a lot of the sales were solely from Vic returning as Broly.

I doubt that Toei pays that much attention to the casting decisions of foreign market.

I'm not the biggest fan of teamfourstar myself, but i think sure pretty much everyone would accept an official teamfourstar dub.
Too bad toei hates their guts for being filthy, dishonorabru, yen-thieving gaijin scum so it'll never happen.
That would be awful. The only one that actually sounds good is Takahata101, the rest are just High School theater actors who tell some funny jokes sometimes.

Almost like Funimation has control over the social media activities of its "independent contractors!"

Sure would be interesting to have Ty asking Funi in front of a jury "So can you explain every single 'contractor' you have going silent simultainously?" And then bring a statistician to inform the jury of the odds/possibility of that occuring without contact from Funimation/fear of retaliation.
