I did this shit for a couple years. It involved doing nearly nothing except walking (which was good for me anyway). Had to call the cops a couple times, also once some transformer blew up and filled the place with acrid, toxic smoke. Pretty good job if you're attending college too. Read a lot of books including course material, the rest of the time played ancient vidya.

Most of the dudes (and a couple chicks) doing this were pretty chill. However, there were definitely some dumb motherfuckers who thought they were actual cops and would try to do cop shit and get fired because that is what gets your company sued.
 
Did any videos come out of that furry convention attack yet? I am curious to see the general appearance of the attackers but can't find any videos/indication of who they were in this thread.
If I had to guess I would assume relatively younger guys that are against pride/gay/degenerate stuff in public but I still really want to see so I can confirm my personal biases which are always correct (as is my world view)

A surprisingly evenly reported take on what happened by one of the attendees (at least as much as can be delivered by a guy in a fucking fursuit):

AI breakdown of this furfaggotry:
  • Incident happened the night of Nov 15–16, 2020 at Golden Horn in Slovenia.
  • In Room 202, a chill gathering was interrupted when people ran in shouting to close the door.
  • Someone outside kicked the door around 10 times; frame bent but didn’t break.
  • White powder covered the porch — later confirmed as fire-extinguisher spray.
  • Lights were shut off, blinds closed, and everyone stayed quiet while trying to reassure each other.
  • Con security was flooded with calls but quickly sent alerts telling everyone to lock down.
  • After about 20–25 minutes, con security arrived with flashlights and escorted everyone to the hotel lobby.
  • Police and an ambulance were already there; police took statements and swept the area.
  • People stayed in the lobby from about 1:30 AM to 4:00 AM before being escorted back to rooms.
  • In Room 212, where the main attack happened, about 10 intruders sprayed attendees with a fire extinguisher and acted violently.
  • People rushed inside; some were injured but received immediate care.
  • Security, police, and ambulance responded quickly; injured guests were treated at the lobby.
  • No serious injuries, and everyone eventually got home safely.
  • Speaker emphasized not spreading misinformation and praised the convention staff for handling the situation well.

It kind of sounds like it was just severe agitators more than anything, there's still no video of the attackers that I have been able to find.
 
How common is lawfare there? Here, there would be claims raining down like confetti and the hotel would probably go out of business.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be recourse, just curious as to how it would work.

Makes me wonder what exactly was going on in Room 212, or whether there is perhaps some context which might be missing from the various coy descriptions that people have been giving about the incident thus far.

I don't know anything about the guy in the above video, but having just browsed his channel, I discovered this conversation he had with another furry about their convention experiences from well over a year ago.

In some parts of the world, dressing like a furry in a relatively public setting (such as a hotel/conference center which is open to the public) is enough to get agitaters to become MATI and do shit against you.
I'm not saying they deserved it but if I were a furfag there are definitely some parts of more old school Europe/Russia where I wouldn't join a public gathering or a gay pride parade.

It's a very easy cultural taboo to play-scold so they can let the more insidious shit pass the sniff test (e.g. "mongling animals is heckin uncool but letting queer kids explore their sexuality is based chungus, love is love"). You see the true face in what they target. Perhaps a few individual furries really do have strong feelings about animal rapists. But every time someone gets outed for splitting puppies the overwhelming response from the fandom as a whole is to cover face. "Not all furries" "lone actor" "not representative" etc, etc, etc ad infinitum.

Furries do not care about the act. They care that it will damage their goal of public acceptance. The kindest possible read is that the first generation of furfags to propagate widely online faced some degree of rejection. The normal, functional human being saying "what are you? Retarded?". The reaction has decreased over time with normal users accepting a level of furfag presence in their online vicinity at all times. But you wouldn't know that from talking to furries. The oldheads told the newfags they were oppressed and next thing you know some weirdo with a rantsona is making videos about whether or not furries are a minority like it's a question that even needs a minute to ponder.

Every furry is primed to try and save face for the fandom. You gotta deal with stuff quietly or parents might not send you their kids to diddle, or leave you around Fido at family gatherings.

I do think there's a distinction between your generic tentacle/monster/fantasy sex toys and ones that are just literally irl animals. The former is, as stated, fantasy - and often boil down to a dildo with interesting texture/shape and occasionally intimidating size. If someone says they want to fuck a dragon or xenomorph or something, it's more "oh, okay. I dont think that'd be a good idea but sure man,". Especially since people can't get their hands on those things irl. (Probably.)

All of this goes out the window when it's a real, tangible animal. "Knotted" toys tow the line a bit, because "large bulb at the bottom, good luck", could be marketed as literally anything else if the rest of the toy didn't look like straight up dog dick. Not to mention the dog muzzle toys shown above aren't even styled to look like furries (IE; human expressions like Disney characters.)

Actually? A fuckable face toy would be terrifying if modeled on a human, too.

I don't really have a point here, just some musings I guess.

That vendor has been at several other big conventions like FWA but has anyone complained about that? This is just selective performative outrage.

Perhaps the person complaining now didn't notice it before? Or wasn't part of the scene until now? Or didn't know about the artist in question until now?

Again, lack of complaints before do not invalidate a current complaint. If you kill a hobo and you don't get caught for a few years, you're still a murderer the whole time even though nobody complained about it until the body washed up last week in front of some kid.
