I'm currently in the US and missed the Barca vs Inter banger match which sucks but I also got to shoot guns so I'm good.
In the US, the Champions League is stuck on Paramount+ streaming purgatory in the US. The cool thing is they have all the games - for all three of the UEFA leagues.

Some matches have been on cable (usually CBS Sports channel- not CBS itself), but it's been kinda random. As DSP's Tax Lawyer said, some bars will broadcast the games, depending on your area. Since they're on between morning and early afternoon for European matches, really kinda spotty outside of major cities.

MLS isn't worth speaking much. It's ok if you can be in the stadium, but they signed a deal with AppleTV for some reason, so most of their games are invisible. USL matches can be fun- they're cheap, for the successful franchises it can be a great atmosphere, but ... the quality is maybe equivalent of 4th or 5th tier in other countries. Honestly as I go across the US, I see as many Liga MX games in a sports bar as I do anything else.

If you get a good sports bar that specializes in footy matches, they will have the streaming service and put different games on different TV's so you can watch a specific game while having others on in the background to check in with. Most, if not all, major cities have these

Yesterday I saw a commercial for the upcoming club world cup and that reminded me how literally no one gives a fuck about it. Kind of rare for such a (supposedly) high profile event.

I dont think anyone has ever cared for it. At least when it was on during the season, it kind of came up a few times in discussion

If they were smart, they shouldn't try hyping it up right now. There is still other things that will easily out hype the club world cup right now including, but not limited to, who gets into Europe in England, the race for second in France, the race for the title in Italy, the FA cup, and all 3 of the european competitions. By the end of the month, most of the hype around this will die down and thats when you start advertising aggressively. June 15th is when this kicks off and the one advantage the tournament has is it offers games that aren't MLS or friendlies

Still no one will care about club World Cup, the numbers came out and clubs get around 13m for it it’s not even that worth it as the capital investment is not there. Most clubs still sign players till end of seasons making them have to resign players just for club cup and it’s not profitable

Guess I should follow up on the lower league's of England now that everything is set.

Championship
Leeds United won the league on goal differential. Both them and Burnley finished with 100 points
Sheffield United, Sunderland, Coventry, and Bristol city ended up getting the final spots on the day. Coventry won their last game to get in, Bristol and Blackburn tied which helped Bristol get over the line as they had lost their game in hand to Leeds. Blackburn tied on the last day to miss out and Millwall lost to Burnley which also left them out of the playoffs.
Cardiff were already relegated, Plymouth had a monumental task and failed to get relegated, and Luton Town lost on the last day while Hull City, Preston, Derby County, and Stoke all tied meaning that Luton Town went back to back relegations.

League 1
Birmingham and Wrexham were confirmed to go up already with Birmingham running away with the league on 111 points.
Stockport, Charlton, Wycombe, and Leyton Orient will be in the playoffs. Reading lost on the final day while Leyton Orient beat Huddersfield securing the final place.
Burton tied Wigan last Cheusday, and secured their spot in League 1 next year so could afford a loss on the last day. This leaves Crawley Town, Bristol Rovers, Cambridge United, and Shrewsbury to be relegated.

League 2
Doncaster won League 2 on 84 points with Port Vale and Bradford City both getting automatic promotions.
Walsall, AFC Wimbledon, Notts County, and Chesterfield will be in the playoffs. Salford City tied their last game, Gimsby Town lost, and Chesterfield won allowing Chesterfield to leap frog both Salford City and Grimsby Town.
Carlisle and Morecambe have been relegated.

The playoffs start next week and here's the match ups. These are 2 legged affairs with the lower seed hosting the first leg

Championship
Sheffield United (3) vs Bristol city (6)
Sunderland (4) vs Coventry (5)

League 1
Stockport (3) vs Leyton Orient (6)
Charlton (4) vs Wycombe (5)

League 2
Notts County (6) vs AFC Wimbledon (5)
Walsall (4) vs Chesterfield (7)

During this week FC Kaiserslautern kicked their coach, Hannover 96 kicked their coach and Schalke announced that their coach would leave at the end of the season. It's still four matchdays to go in 2. Bundesliga.
And today Preußen Münster sacked their coach so that's 4 coaches being fired in 2. Bundesliga in one week.

And this weekend the bloodshed continued.

Schalke decided that's not worth waiting til the season is over but that it's better to kick their coach immediately.

Cologne, after only playing 1:1 against Regensburg (who are going back to 3rd Liga again), are going to sack their coach; after their chief of sports backed the coach after the match. So the chief of sports has to go too.

In 1. Bundesliga Wolfsburg released Hasenhüttl. Wolfsburg is the nomans land of the league and wont either face relegation or make it to Europe.

Shalke makes sense with them finishing in the bottom half of the table for a club that big. I doubt they have stability so why bother. Cologne was a few points off the top of the table so why on earth would you do that. Wolfsburg need to hire someone who is going to take them higher in the table or this would be stupid to do

The curse of Harry Kane just found an end.
I know, as a Bayern fan, most of the rest of the world is eh. But... you gotta feel good for Kane. From various official instas:

The wild thing is Köln are in second and only a point behind Hamburg. If they can win out, they're guaranteed to be back in the top flight.

And somehow, Hamburger SV WON! They now lead the 2 Bundesliga by 1 point with 2 games remaining. If they can one of the last two, they are guaranteed the promotion back to the Bundesliga (after 7 or 8 years adrift). St Pauli is apparently safe, so it's possible the Hamburg Derby will be a top flight affair next year.

Oh, but Hamburg fired their coach at mid-year, and the guy in his place, Merlin Polzin, was initially interim, was quickly promoted to full-time, in his early to mid thirties, and honestly, when their offence is clicking, HSV maybe have one of the deadliest offenses on the continent. 2 BL still has the most fun games I can find on a week-in, week-out basis.
Edit to add:
Dier and Kane as the whistle blew between Leverkusen and Freiburg:

Both were teammates previously at Tottenham (and hence, trophyless). (It was announced this week that Dier is going to Monaco on a free next season.)

United continued to cut staff including their scouting network (sorry couldn't find a better, more recent article on this). I heard about this from one of the podcasts I listen to and they explained that Manchester United had something like 140 scouts on the books. I can't believe how ridiculous it is to have that many scouts on the books to come up with just buying players the manager likes. That's an insane approach and it justifies Radcliff deciding to cut the fat from United because that is clearly fat

It's Monday and while I'm drinking beer in Vegas another club from 2. Bundesliga, namely Greuther Fürth, has decided to kick their coach.

Just what is wrong with Inter? Fizzling out the Serie A title run, bottled it on Coppa Italia and now bottling it on Champions League after finishing the first half with two goals ahead.

Edit: BAHAHAHAHA I jinxed it!

3:3, insane

/e 4:3 and probably not the end of it yet
/e2 Inter won, awesome two games, probably the best semi finals I've seen

PSG v Arsenal (1-0 agg) predictions?

I'm going for a cheeky late equaliser by Arsenal only for PSG to dash them in the dying minutes and end it 2-1 overall.

We saw football without Pep and Mourinho tactics. This was the norm when fans expected attacking football and not sitting back, passing it around. Full throttle, risky football has to be back, for the love of God.

Arteta ball brings us back to reality, he should be a dying breed of manager that retires when Pep does. Easy PSG win for this one, sack Arteta chants at full time.
