guys I need advice:
How do i pick a futbol team to follow, i follow a poplar sport in my area and the only reason i follow the team, that i follow is becasue my family follows it, but none of my family follows any futball team. so how would i pick a team to follow?
If you are an american (which I assume you are) just start watching some games as a neutral. At some point, you should end up cheering for a team more than you should. That will tell you who to cheer for

I would pick whatever league you have the greatest access too. Usually that is the Premier League in England but I would look into watching Serie A in Italy, La Liga in Spain, Bundesliga in Germany, and even Ligue 1 in France for a bit and see if its easy to watch, works with your timezone, and a team catches your eye. Champions League is just an extra competition like Europa League and the Europa Conference league. Major League Soccer is mostly a summer league so I would say not to get too involved in it because of just how different it is but enjoy it during the down times when the only thing that keeps this thread going is rumors and transfers because it is an active league

The Champions League is a tournament between the biggest clubs in Europe. I support Juventus but would advise against that unless you're a masochist. If you want to be entertained, I'd choose a club from the Premier League, La Liga or Bundesliga. As an observer of Italian football, I would also recommend AC Milan as they are an iconic club that seem to be on an upward trajectory.

After watching enough football, even if you haven’t found a team to root for, you’ll probably find a team in those leagues to root against.

you wanna pick some club in 2nd bundesliga from a decent soued town. its pure pain and nobody in your country will even knwo why you suffer every weekend.
also, if they make it to the first division, you will be super happy till the next season starts.

Even though they haven't been relevant in like a decade I still have a hatred of Arsenal purely because of how arrogant, annoying and smug they were in the early 2000s. They played some good football back then but God help you if you knew any Arsenal fans.
Especially since it was Arsene Wenger who got Arsenal fans to drink the kool-aid that a 4th place finish Champions League appearance was the equivalent of a trophy. Arsenal fans ended up taking it for granted and then they would get utterly destroyed in the round of 16. AFTV captures the delusion and ungratefulness of their fan base and features a lot of lolcow fodder.

Alright, as an Arsenal fan, I think I suffer enough showing up to games we should win and getting blown out. I also have to deal with AFTV broadcasting to the world how retarded these fans are most of the time. But I will say, no one hates Arsenal more than Arsenal fans hate Arsenal

Anyone but Manchester United

The only reason to follow them is to keep a thumb on the pulse of the next stage of the disaster that is that club. Already I'm hearing from the United plastics down south how Ten Hag will solve everything so the next cycle of Red Cope has begun

If you have a local team try to go and watch. The quality might be less than what you see on television but the experience is way different in the flesh especially if you can grow to like them. I build friendships that way as well.

Otherwise watch what's available and see if you can find any team/player interesting.

sounds good, also seems like there is a game in my area this saturday might go check it out.

Thanks for all the advice btw

I'm pretty sure everyone hates Ty. That man is always dressed head to toe in Arsenal stuff. He even has Arsenal headphones for fuck's sake. Ty drove Claude to madness.

I'd advise against supporting Juventus but not for that reason, but because Juventus fans are the most entitled little manbabies around and will kick their feet and SCREAM at the sheer horrors of going maybe a season or two without a fucking league title. Even Man United fans aren't that entitled in 2022. Like man, supporting an all star major Italian team makes you masochist? I guess being an Everton fan would be like the BMI Pain Olympics and supporting Sunderland would be on par with getting cremated alive.

For sheer fun with ups and downs and heartbreak I'd recommend Leeds or Everton. Newcastle might be a fun one but they've now got the oil money so they can't really be considered underdogs anymore. Alternatively if you really fucking hate niggers and fags there's Lazio.

As an example of why Arsenal fans hate the retarded section of Arsenal fans, let me give you a brief example of "suggested posts" from facebook (almost as if Zuckerberg knows I hate other Arsenal fans)

This is talking about Tomiyasu. Like holy fuck this is just an entire article highlighting the most retarded Arsenal fans bitching about spending 16 mil on a good right back because he isn't immediately playing all the fucking time. I hate our fan base so much

My point was more about the boring style of play. Anyone who has been watching Juventus since Allegri returned will tell you it's hard to stay awake for a full game. Sure, Juve dominated Italian football during its least competitive decade in recent history. But it's been over 20 years since we last won the champions league. In that time, every big club has won at least one. So maybe us Juventus fans are spoiled with our domestic success but every other big club (with the exception of City and PSG) has had more European success.
