Barca sold another 15% of their TV rights in order to potentially get enough revenue to register more signings this summer. ESPN FC explains

It seems like they are selling off future revenue to try and achieve some financial stability now. They won't be around in a few years. The rate at which they are signing players and forwarding revenue is staggering

Zinchenko has officially joined Arsenal. Probably a Xhaka replacement who can cover for Tierney when he gets injured aka half the season

It looks like West Ham are on the verge of signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo for 36 mil + add ons. Don't know much about him besides he's a target man and still pretty young.

Edit: De Ligt has scored on his first touch with Bayern in a friendly against dc united, 1 minute after being subbed in.

There is a reason you haven't really heard of him. Broke through at PSV and signed with Sassuolo but has been loaned out to Serie B teams for like 3 years. Finally breaks through at Sassuolo and he is already gone

Looks like a good finisher though

I wonder what teams will be in for Griezmann. Definitely not PSG or Bayern but maybe an English club? I think he'd be a good fit for Juve, they need a versatile forward to fill in for Chiesa who is still a couple months away from a complete recovery.

So here are my 2 issues with this.
1. Griezmann is 6 years younger and has operated in the Atletico system before. He would certainly offer more than Ronaldo could for less in both wages and on the field defensive and offensive work. Atletico let him go and got him back along with a shit ton of cash from Barca. Why would they want to do this?
2. Ronaldo didn't play defense for United. Like, to a hilarious extent. How on earth will he fit in at Atletico? Are you going to get rid of Simeone who has made Atletico a 3rd team in Spain on a shoestring budget just for a year of Ronaldo? I get Ronaldo is in shape but he would never survive half the games Atletico play.

My guess is that this is a ploy to see who is interested in Griezmann so the Ronaldo camp have an idea of what the market looks like over the next few weeks

I do wonder if West Ham's owner John Textor is now regretting the purchase of Botafogo. They're plummeting hard in the Brazilian championship. Keep in mind they just got promoted from Série B.
Also, City Group is hell-bent in purchasing at least one club down here. They were in talks to buy Bahia, but it appears they backed off from it, because it's fucking Bahia. Everything from that god-forsaken state is a mess. Now they were in talks not to purchase, but to "make a partnership" with my São Paulo.
As long as they don't make them wear light blue, I don't mind. Can't be any worse than the current administration.

Dani Alves has signed a 1 year deal with UNAM in Mexico, better known as Pumas. Which means he will be playing in the MLS in a year or 2
Mexico and the US are where footy careers go to die, so good. Fuck Dani Alves. We're still paying for his contract termination tax.

Mexico for sure. But if you don't go to Florida, NY, or LA for your career, their is a decent shot you might move on to Europe somewhere. MLS is finally deciding to be that feeder league to Europe instead of competing with them. So suck it Brazil and Argentina, we are catching up as a feeder league

It works for managers as well, just look at Viera. Although I don’t know if his is an outlier case. He wasn’t first choice at Palace but now that he’s in he’s proving his worth and will probably end up at Arsenal one day if he keeps the momentum going.

Rate me late, but I just learned Barca owes de Jong over 15 million euros in unpaid wages, and made him an offer of just~5million to smooth it over.
:story:
This isn't late but I haven't brought it up. Another cost cutting method of barca is to pay less of the total contract up front and more of it later. For example, if they signed a player on 15 million over a 3 year contract, instead of paying him 5 mil a year, they would structure it so they pay 2 mil, 5 mil, and then 8 mil over the 3 years. The thought is that they could sell him after year 2 and not have to pay that 8 mil or just resign him to a new contract and kick that payment down the road indefinitely. Its just another scummy thing to try and continue to thrive despite having terrible cash flow issues and unable to sign players with La Liga. Right now, they need de Jong to leave so they can not pay most of his contract coming up and get a player fee to help register new players. De Jong needs to hold out to receive all the money he is owed and I would love for him to take Barca to court over this. Something to finally wake up this club and get them to stop spending money they don't have.

As for why they would do this, again, they don't think they will be around in 5 years so they are going to try and win everything they can right now. Probably why Lewandowski made such a fuss to move right now to Barca. Its a boyhood club that probably won't be around in a few years so gotta get there now

Jesse Marsh, Phil Neville, Henry tried his hand in there, and Wayne Rooney is back. I suspect Rooney is doing this job for a bit as a less pressured learning experience. DC sucks and has no pressure to do well but he also won't be fighting off relegation. He can just sit around until a better job opens up elsewhere

So, three windows after selling Haller (who in the meantime has transferred again), West Ham have finally signed a striker. Scamacca, from Sassuolo joined.
Honestly weird having squad depth now
