Qarabag sounds more like a Pokemon and Crvena Zcezda like a gipsy curse or a spell from Harry Potter.
Qarabag are a staple team in the Europa League group stage every year. No domestic competition and they get into Champions League through the Champions route so they can play some really shitty teams until the 3rd or 4th round of Champions League. They usually get knocked out around then unless they play another shitty team (like this year). Then they get to finish 4th in the Champions League group stage. But they have a complete stranglehold on their domestic league

Crvena Zcezda would probably be better known as Red Star Belgrade. Shouldn't need to explain more about them since plenty of football documentary about retards fighting other retards are out there

Copa90 did a really good one on them a few years back. Their Derby Days series is a great microcosm of football supporter retards fighting each other all over this Earth.

This was probably the best documentary about them. The partizan vs red star rivalry forming after the split of Yugoslavia was about the only real cool thing that I learned from it

Hamza Choudhury has been loaned to Watford from Leicester with an option to buy. No idea if this kicks off any potential business for Leicester but according to the Athletic, Leicester are trying to balance themselves out after performing well above expectations. They must see the writing on the wall that their time is done with trying to challenge the big dogs now that Villa, West Ham, and especially Newcastle will be outspending them. They are probably going to keep a set of core players together and try to build the squad that way.

Rumors of potential moves for Leicester before the window shuts
Outgoing
Fofana to Chelsea
Soumare to Monaco
Maddison to Newcastle
Barnes to Newcastle

Incoming
Sangare from PSV (DM)
Vlachodimos from Benfica (GK)
Aouar from Lyon (CM)
Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea (RW)

Me and my brother are going to the stadium tonight.
Why? São Paulo is coming to my city for the second leg of the Sudamericana quarterfinals match. Match starts at 7:15 pm local time. Depending on how it goes, we may come back happier than a kid high on pixie stix, or filled with murderous rage.

I sure wish I could post eventual pics, but most likely those would dox me somehow.

Ceara is a club that could get this far in the sudamerica? I mean, I know it isn't libertadores but its still a big competition. You guys had to knock out Independiente and got top seeding. Thats pretty impressive

Footy in the state of Ceará has evolved quite a bit in the latest years. The other big team in the city, Fortaleza, did okay in their first ever Libertadores and only got beat in the Round of 16 against a decent Argentinian side, Estudiantes de La Plata. Matter of fact, Brazil as a whole is on an entire whole level from the rest of South America when it comes to football, even in the usually weak Northeastern region. Mostly thanks to smart administration of assets and player formation, whereas most other clubs in the region kind of struggle with that.

For instance, São Paulo eliminated Universidad Católica from Chile after beating them 4-2 in Santiago and 4-1 at home. Keep in mind that Católica is the current four-time-in-a-row champion in Chile, so they're not small fries.

Independiente de Avellaneda is in a state of internal struggle right now, so that may have something to do with how Ceará managed to pass as first in their group - As you noticed, only the first in their groups qualify, and they face off against Libertadores' third-placers in the Round of 16. But it's still an excellent merit for the team, which has formed a good and competitive team and has had excellent results since coming back from Série B a few years ago (same deal with Fortaleza), and I expect tonight's match to go either way. They're already making history by going this far, but things could get better.

Too bad they're going against my team, otherwise I'd root for them to reach the finals.

I am aware of how most of the Argentinian teams are and the stereotypes around most of the other clubs in South America. It was just kinda shocking to see a team from Brazil that I didn't recognize doing so well

English League Cup draw soon and with very few Championship sides (more than 10 got knocked out) qualifying this time around, some fun away days are to be had. I personally want Fulham and Watford to get one another, so we can finally merge the eternal yo-yo.

Its Norwich and Fulham that are the eternal yo-yo

Far too many yo-yo's when it comes to the Championship as of late. Genuinely happy knowing Steve Bruce fucked it for West Brom last season.

Some fun away day nonsense for a lot of the Premiership sides. Curious if losing to any of these sides will result in someone getting the sack? Bolton and Villa will certainly have a nostalgic flair to it. I do hope the TV stations don't opt for a generic clash between two regular sides. Give me Stockport vs. Leicester and Cambridge vs. Southampton!

I saw quite a few Swansea supporters online were out with pitch forks for Russell Martin after losing on penalties to Oxford yesterday. First off, the first team outside Joel Piroe ain't so great, the reserves are even more bottom of the barrel. Jay Fulton is very blah, and he's been on my shit list since his red card vs Brentford in the Championship final.

It doesn't matter if they try to play tiki taka or boring ass long ball football and hope for a penalty or set piece, the current squad is mid. It's frustrating but it is what it is.

Aren't a great deal of Swansea's ongoing issues tied to the American consortium takeover or is that the age ol' "Brits blaming Yanks" default when it comes to Football?

To be fair, I think it's a little bit of both. Swansea have preferred to play a more attractive brand of possession football for a while going back to Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez. Steve Cooper didn't really fit that mold, and his managerial style with Swansea was very suspect. I think Cooper got really lucky getting Nottingham Forest promoted last season, and I suspect some of the current Swansea supporter anger can be tied to Cooper's departure and subsequent success at Forest.

While the current ownership group hasn't really made any real big splash signings, they've made some decent low key moves. They sold high on Jamal Lowe, Joel Piroe had a great first season. Harry Darling I think is going to be very good. The depth is a bit lacking, but its kind of expected given the rigors of the Championship. It might be a bumpy ride for a while, but it's better than being a yo-yo club or being in Derby County's current situation. I personally think it's insane to want to sack a manager over a cup upset in a cup that no one truly cares about.

Congrats on the win. How tense was that penalty shootout?

Edit
Adding the highlights because I didn't realize how fast these games are

After getting blown out over the weekend, Frankfurt put on a much better display in the super cup. Unfortunately, Real Madrid still have too much quality up front and were able to take their chances

VERY tense. It's a whole different level checking it out right next to the pitch, entirely sober and on the vast minority in the stadium. 53k went to Arena Castelão for what was, to that point, the most important match in Ceará's history. And boy are the Ceará fans loud and brash, as they should be.

The problem was coming back home. The rule states that the visitor team's fans must wait for the police's authorization to leave the stadium, so that the home team's fans can disperse and leave as quick as possible. About a hundred Ceará fans preferred waiting outside the stadium to pick fights with São Paulo fans. The police had to apply some degree of force to tell them to fuck off already (thankfully nothing serious, just a few rubber bullets to the floor and that was it), and after an hour or so lounging around the designated area where we stood, we finally left, and me and my brother only arrived home at 12:30 am after much struggle in finding an Uber willing to drive us home. Here we are, working with sore throats and having barely slept, but it was all worth it.

I honestly expected Benzema to buttfuck us without lube.

But losing to Real Madrid is completely acceptable, especially if it's only 2:0. Not mad at my boys. They did a great job against one of the best teams worldwide and of all times.

They looked like they could get a goal early too and change the game. Completely different team from what they showed over the weekend.
