So you're still seething i see, literally your fellow brazilians ITT were coping about how they couldn't even have that momentary happiness. Is not that serious though, It was obvious for anyone with eyes that Brazil wasnt going to win, isn't like they fucked up a golden chance or something.
They are either loving it or fucking seething.

I was gonna be in the latter part, but then I realized I don't really care. Argentina is a bolivarian shithole already, let them have some momentary happiness with their boys. My only problem is with fellow Brazilians who cheer for them, despite the fact argies call us monkeys and mistreat us in every possible place and opportunity.

Okay, the celebrations recently reached the point of stupidity. The plan was to take the Argentina players and staff on a bus to the obelisk in Buenos Aires. They were supposed to arrive about 4 hours ago. Plans had to be changed because far too many people were gathered, and a few fans fucked their shit up.

You can probably find better clips on r/argentina to archive but here's an article. I will just translate the title.

The moment where two fans jumped from a bridge to the team bus: One was rescued by the players and the other fell to the floor.

I haven't seen an actual confirmation of death. People are already throwing unconfirmed wording onto this.
Some fag on 4chan tried to claim the fan died and used the pic of a completely different person with a shirt on.
EDIT: The players got on 3 helicopters and are now at the AFA training center at Ezeiza. Party's over for now and the players are resting because too many retards gathered around the team bus.

I want to add that this was obvious, there were more than 5M of people here. More than the entire population of CABA. I get the emotion of the players but this was a terrible idea and It's a miracle this didn't ended like the last scene of Perfume.

And what's your curse word for Argentinians?
Nothing specific, so we call them every other expletive ever invented.

It's sad to admit, but we are now the England of South American footy - Meaning that we cling to past glories, hype our team prior to a given WC as "the best team since the last one that was champion", then bottle it badly one way or the other, without learning shit in the process.

I really don't see how we will break this loop, if we'll ever do it. Sure, we may still say "Whatever, we are still five-time champs" but dammit, that's in the past! Today we are a bunch of overhyped, overpaid clowns. We no longer have a franchise player, because Neymar's days in the NT are close to an end and he has no world championship to crown his career. Everybody else will be, at most, important pieces in their clubs, but that's it. And to top it off, we simply have no decent coach left. We're done for, and the last thing that could bring some joy to us as a united country is a shambles.

Now I have to suffer a good portion of the sports pundits breaking into fellating praise for our sworn rivals, while they shit on our NT at every opportunity. Worst of all, I can't say they're wrong.

All banter aside, it's a bit worse than that. Just like tiki-taka is already obsolete, the brazilian way of seeing football is almost obsolete too. I wouldn't say it's like England because no one on their sane mind respect England on internacional football but Brazil is still respected. That just means there is still a way to fall even lower though.
Yeah sure Brasil's clubs are selling 17 yrs old boys for 100M, that doesn't reflect in the NT because Florentino Episten doesn't care about that. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more Jorginhios in the future.
What Brazil needs to do is fully accept this L and start a total reform of their football. You can't use the same system as in the 90s, that football is dead. Bring Guardiola, whatever. Some fresh meat that sees football differently. Forget 2026 and start planning for 2030 (or 2028, idk anymore) because your problems will not be solved in a couple of years.
The good side is that pretty much all football powers are in a bit of a crisis. Like Italy missed the wc two times in a row, Germany completely embarrassed themselves, Spain was always a fad, England is England, ect. No one is thinking about Brazil right now. It is the ideal moment to reinvent yourselves before is too late.

If anything I'd say Argentina and France being there at the end reflects what the current meta is right which is "go out there and push forward, defense be dammed" and when they do turn to defense, it's 11 motherfuckers in the big area.

TBH both France and Argentina could do it because Messi is a god at creating plays and finding holes or just closing them. Similarly Mbappe might now show for a whole game but once he finds a spot, he will be there. I don't think Brazil has that. Neymar is just a retarded diva.

So, basically, party's over because of those dipshits that threw themselves off a bridge, and it was taking too long to reach the obelisk. Players are going back to their homes, they're out of Ezeiza. There were plans to have a dinner at the training center but that was cancelled. Top kek.
Every other detail or clip you'd want, you can find on r/argentina or infobae (argentina)'s front page right now.

I went and downloaded a copy of the match last night and watched it. It's the only game I've ever actually watched the entirety of in my life. All in all, it was very entertaining even though I already knew the outcome beforehand. That save by the Argentinian goalie near the very end of penalty minutes (I think that's the proper term) was certainly one of the most clutch moments I've ever seen in sports. I definitely gained a new respect for soccer players in regards to the stamina they have to play the game; it had never really occurred to me before just how taxing it has to be. I still find myself disgusted by how much the players like to embellish injuries though.

I have a question that may be kind of stupid: why exactly does the World Cup seem like a bigger deal than winning at the Olympics? Is it just a case of the best players being able to be loaned out to their national teams during the scheduling period of the World Cup compared to when the Summer Olympics are held?

Football at the Olympics has always been a meme. Only 3 players above 23 allowed and Cameroon and Nigeria won.

The Summer Olympics iirc has retarded rules.

Like only 3 players on a team can be above like 22 or something.

Which is probably why Olympics soccer has no prestige and its less teams playing as well.

So its like watching some mini version of those U19 World Cups.

Tubi is offering 4K replays.

Though I am unable to see much difference though my understanding is that video broadcasts in general are at 720p.

I guess I can see the sweat pores on players shirts.

To further kick on the Olympic soccer competition, Mexico won a gold medal in men’s soccer in 2012. They haven’t been able to translate that into their holy grail of a quinto partido in the World Cup.

Its U-23 with 3 players. This is because usually the Euros, Copa America, Gold Cup, and Asian tournament would be played around the same time. Olympics were basically going to be the U-23 team as most of the best players would prefer to play for an actual title instead of some Olympic bullshit. So they just pretended that there were rules to this stupid summer olympics to save their feelings

Well December should be dedicated to this ideal.
