Please don't hate the lateness of some of these posts but we are about half way through the january window so I thought I would highlight some transfers from the premier league and some other clubs in europe

Aston Villa- Left winger/left back Alex Moreno from Real Betis

Brentford- winger Kevin Shade from Freiburg. There is an option to buy so the 21 year old coming in on loan makes sense because there is probably a fee to get out of the transfer if the player doesn't work out

Brighton- 16 year old Jamie Mullins from Irish club Bohemians and 18 year old Facundo Buonanotte. I believe both are midfielders and are part of the process to get young talent in, develop them, the swindle chelsea out of 80 mil for an above average premier league player

Chelsea- Mudryk, Felix for way too much, Badiashile from Monaco, Fofana from Molde, and Santos from Vasco da Gama which are signings meant for the future. So they are making decent signings but its just, felix and mudryk are ridiculous

Crystal Palace- Butland to United on loan. Like, why?

Leeds- Got rid of Klich to DC United and brought in Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg which Marsh should have a bit of knowledge about. They also just signed Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim. A 20 year old forward to replace their broken and taped together forward situation of Patrick Bamford

Liverpool- Cody Gakpo who should have been bought by United instead of spending all that money on Antony

Manchester United- Butland and Weghorst on loan because they have no money. Ronaldo to Al Nassr which they should have done in the summer so they could have actually spent some money on Gakpo in the summer

Newcastle- Bought Garang Kuol from Australia then lent him out to Hearts in Scotland. He is the 18 year old who played for Australia in the World cup so should be interesting to see if he develops into anything that can help Newcastle in the future once they need squad depth

Nottingham Forest- Gustavo Scarpa from Palmeiras on a free. Nottingham Forest came to the premier league on the back of a shit load of loan players I believe so they just have to keep getting warm bodies to throw against the wall until they win safety in the premier league. This is a free one to do that

Southampton- Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb and Carlos Alcaraz from Racing club in Argentina. Orsic is a 30 year old winger who was playing in Eastern Asia and the Chinese super league for the best part of his career. No idea what to make of him but he played in the world cup for Croatia so he has to be a gamble for Southampton. Alcaraz is a 20 year old from Racing club who looks like a promising midfielder. His claim to fame, however, is being the guy who scored the goal against Boca in the Argentine cup final against Boca which created the 10 card melee right before the world cup

West Ham- Luizao from Sao Paolo. A 20 year old center back isn't going to save them from Moyes playing a style that the squad isn't built to do.

Wolves- Cunha from Atletico and Mario Lemina from Nice. Atletico Madrid scamming Chelsea have hidden the fact that they also scammed Wolves into paying 50 million release clause for Cunha since he appeared 3 times. Lemina is a 29 year old midfielder from Nice who cost about 9.7 million pounds so no idea if that is a good deal or not.

Barely anything has happened in Italy. Like transfers in and out haven't happened. No idea why

Atletico Madrid have managed to send 3 players on loan, 2 were swindling people with money and one was sending Marcos Paulo back to Brazil after not playing at all

Barcelona have no more levers to pull and no one signed up for Joan Laporta's only fans so they are resting their entire future on the Super League. Real Madrid are also fully in on the Super League and aren't buying anyone yet

Sevilla- Released Isco by mutual consent. There's a name I haven't heard in forever

Bayern Munich got Daley Blind for free from Ajax. For all the good business Ajax do, no idea how that one slipped through

Lens- Signed Adrien Thomasson and Julian Le Cardinal to the squad. No idea really who either are but a small french club spending about 6.6 million pounds probably indicates they are going to make a push to get into the Champions League and then lay a massive egg

Lyon- Signed croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Zenit. Everything about this is confusing. Lovren is still playing, Lovren is still good enough to play for a top side in a Big 5 league, and how did a European team manage to pay a Russian team for a player when there is supposed to be sanctions on Russia because Muh Ukraine? So many questions

Should be a fun second half of the spending window

Silva, Jorginho, Kante, Betinelli, Zakaria and Felix all leave in the sunmer. The problem for Chelsea is theyre stuck with shitters like Ziyech, Mendy and Kepa until 2025. Kovacic is down to a year left in the summer and will definitely attract interest. Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Auba are all there until 2024. Its seriously grim reading for any rent boy.
They are in the position United was in like 5 years ago. Idk if they can pull off the same stunt that United managed to since they can't just make money every season

We’ll take Gallagher off their hands. If they buy more midfielders we might just get him on another loan with an option to buy.
Gallagher seems like a really good midfielder in a mid table premier league side. He will suck at Chelsea, thrive at mid sized clubs, and will constantly be bouncing back and forth. Going to suck for him as a career if he keeps trying to stay at these high end clubs

This week on Can't pay we'll take it away. Paul Bohill has a High Court Writ to collect on a debt in Barcelona.

I also dont hate the Weghorst signing. It's obvious the club isnt going to make any permanent moves until the sale is done. Liverpool signing Gakpo is pure stupidity. They fell for media hype and "we have to gazump United" without thinking maybe we should sign a position we need. Its exactly the same mentality they had for Nunez and theyre acting like Man Utd for much of the last decade.

They better make sure the Saudi's write the check for the Spanish Super Cup right away because they are going to be fucked.

I don't think this was a bad signing tbh. Diaz and Jota are out for a while and the squad depth is starting to rear its ugly head. They are having to bring up youth players to fill in spots. Gakpo is young enough to be a long term signing while also plugging in many spots on the front line. The stupidity comes from Liverpool knowing their midfield is god awful this year with Fabinho and Keita regressing terribly, Oxlade Chamberlain sucking, having to rely really heavily on Milner, and the only real signings to help the midfield so far being Carvalho and Arthur Melo. The club need to sign more but the fact that the owner hasn't given up on signings means the club won't tank in value on their end. It just will because the club have to rebuild again

Other Paul and the lads will be hauling the trophies off and bundling Gavi into the back of the van while Laporta tard rages.

The whole summer was shit for Liverpool. They massively overspent on Nunez when funds should have gone on midfielders. Arthur was a complete panic signing and a terrible one at that.

I imagine selling Gavi and Pedri will pay for a lot of Barca's debts

Liverpool are in a shitty spot. They needed to cycle out so many spots at once. They needed to replace Mane right away since he left and Firmino was next on the chopping block. I don't think they expected their midfield to just collapse with their quality. Nunez isn't a terrible signing tbh. Probably just needs another year to adapt before he comes good, like Lewandowski with Dortmund. I would be more concerned if he wasn't creating chances to miss than him just missing all the chances he creates. Arthur was a panic signing that was gambling on him being a knock off version of Thiago. Of their midfield, they were worried about fucking Thiago lol

You need to build your team and system around players like Gallagher and Palace were willing to do that last season. That’s why he scored 8 goals, provided 3 assists and won player of the year. Any manager at a top 6 club isn’t going to do that and he’ll never be more than a half time sub at those clubs.

Yeah. And the worst part is, he doesn't have the Grealish ability to slide in decently to a top side. I think Grealish would be a much bigger success story if he didn't cost 100 million (which he shouldn't. That was just a combination of being a british player and aston villa playing hard ball). But I would argue that he has been a decent squad player at one of the best teams in England and Europe which is more than you can say for most players who do well at a mid table premier league team

He better turn out to be just as good or better than Kvaratskhelia
It's pretty unlikely he gets anywhere close to Kvara's level. Also remember, Napoli only paid 10M for him.
12 professional goals for club, 9 for Ukraine youth teams. How on earth is this lad worth 100mil Shaktar have scammed Chelsea there.
I don't rate Grealish but at least he had premier league experience when City spent all that money on him.

Theres rumours they want David Raya from Brentford but I cant see why hed cross London to a team theyre only 4 points behind.
Dosh. Also, Spurs are a fairly established high level club, even if they blunder and miss europe, they'll be back the season after. Brentford can very easily do a West Ham and have a few great seasons, then suddenly fall off a cliff. I very much doubt they'll axe their #1 keeper and captain in the jan window to sign a city rival at least.

Pickford is the one I expect though.

Pickford is built for Spuds. Hes good enough to last at a reasonably big club but he has a spursy streak to fuck things up when his club really need him to perform. I really couldnt think of a better heir to Lloris.

If there wasn't a tax on british players being bought in England, Grealish probably would have been bought for about $60 million and would be considered a good signing for city. I think Gallagher would be a better comparison for Grealish and Mudryk would be better compared to Kvaratskhelia

>Lloris
Oh, spurs are finished
I am convinced that Conte wants out at Spurs but doesn't want to fully collapse and ruin his reputation. So he just plays a style that would have Spurs go too far behind to catch up and then play the way they should play in the second half and see what happens.

Aside from the north london derby, I watched the Chelsea vs Crystal Palace game today. Chelsea cannot score a goal unless Havartz does it and he isn't very good at it. If Havartz was a goal scorer, he would have had 3 today. Chelsea should have a much easier after the start of February. They have Liverpool and Fulham next which will be tough, but then its West Ham, Southampton, Tottenham, Leeds, Leicester, Everton, Aston Villa, and Wolves. If they don't amass a ton of points during this stretch, then Potter is in serious trouble

Palace is usually an easy guaranteed 3 points for Chelsea but today was closer than usual. I might be bias but Palace played pretty good football today and were unlucky not to go up a number of times. Same goes for Chelsea if I’m being fair. Would have been a good game for a neutral. Any more losses though and we’re looking at a relegation scrap since the bottom half is so tight. And when our next 8 games are top 6 teams it doesn’t look good.
