FIFA fucking about and changing the World Cup format again. With the increase from 32 to 48 teams they were originally going to do 16 groups of 3, now it's 12 groups of 4 with an extra Round of 32 thrown in. That means instead of the 80 games originally planned it's now gonna be 104 (up from the 64 of the last WC). According to FIFA this better for the fans, and definitely not because they realised how much more ticket revenue they can get from having 60%+ more games.

It's more inventory for their TV broadcast partners. That's where the real big $$$ is at.

I don't really mind it because the three team group idea was extremely stupid.
 
Both Milan clubs advancing to the quarterfinals on a 1-0 aggregate is some peak Italian football. Hopefully they aren't matched up against each other because it would be a disgrace for one of them to make a semi final, they are both shit this year.

Oh hell no. I want one of them in the semis. And I want them to play Napoli, who somehow get through. Get an Italian team in the final when Juve are down lol




Arsenal losing is probably a good thing but damn, even when its going well Arsenal still find a way to break my heart

So Champion League draw has Bayern vs City, Madrid vs Chelsea, Benfica vs Inter, and Napoli vs Milan.

Winner of Bayern City vs Winner of Madrid Chelsea and Winner Benfica Inter vs winner Napoli vs Milan.

Watch Chelsea finish 8th again and win the bloody thing. In the last three encounters, whoever won between Real and Chelsea would go on to win the thing.

Meanwhile Manchester United will have played 21% of the La Liga this season (including pre-season friendlies) having now drawn Sevilla.

I'm honestly ok with an Italian team making the final or winning as long as it's not Inter. But obviously Napoli is the only team with the quality to challenge one of the big dogs on the other side of the bracket. I also believe in Benfica.

The draw is very sus tho, I'd be pissed if I was a Chelsea supporter. Imagine having to beat Madrid and City or Bayern to make a final. :story:
 
I stood in the Southampton rain for multiple hours to watch my team win 2-0 this week and Spurs choke a 2-0 lead against them days later. Just what on earth is happening at that club?

I am pretty sure Conte's rant covered like 85% of their problem. Of course Conte didn't fully cover his own faults but he reached all the way back about everything wrong with that club
 
Imbrahimovic became the oldest player to score a goal in Serie A history today. Milan conceded a goal immediately after and lost to Udinese 3-1. lol

What would he possibly say that you don't already know? His rant on Tottenham is something that has been known forever. They only recently were able to shrug that off thanks to Harry Redknapp qualifying for Champions League on the back of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, Pochettino pulling magic out of his hat for way longer than he should have, and then a string of good managers squeezing relevancy out of the club. Eventually Harry Kane and Son are going to leave the club or become too old to do much and the club will regress back to their normal level as middle of the table
