Over under 3.5 red cards for Arsenal in Madrid

- a red card within the first ten minutes for Arsenal
- every goal that Arsenal scores will be called offside
- 3-4 penalties for handball

In other news: FIFA decided to make tickets for club WM more attractive (lol) bc nobody is buying them. They came up with absolute banger deals (lmao even):

Deal 1: Buy 2-3 tickets for the club world cup and you are allowed to buy a ticket for a random world cup match but not for the final.
Deal 2: Buy 20 tickets for 20 different club world cup matches including 1 half final and the final match and you are allowed to buy a ticket for the world cup final in 2026! You actually have to attend every match and cannot resell any of the 20 tickets.

This summer, Porto get a Ronaldo on a free in late June, and he plays for them in the Club World Cup. Porto happens to also be in the same group as Inter Miami (Messi's team).
FIFA love to script these things.

Getting into beef with an ex-player for your team who called you the worst keeper in the clubs history, then proving him right by dropping a stinker where you're directly responsible for both goals conceded is such an Andre Onana thing

God bless United's banter era

An official proposal to expand the men's 2030 World Cup to 64 teams has been put forward by South American governing body Conmebol.

The tournament will be hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal, after the opening matches are held in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first with 48 teams but Conmebol wants to expand further for 2030 to mark the competition's 100-year anniversary.

"This will allow all countries to have the opportunity to live the world experience and so nobody on the planet is left out of the party," said Conmebol president Alejandro Dominguez at the body's congress on Thursday.

"We are convinced that the centennial celebration will be unique because 100 years are celebrated only once."
Even if it is a one off for the centennial it still sounds like absolute ass cancer. To put it into some perspective that'd be roughly 1/3 of all countries in FIFA in the WC.

Also fun fact I learned while I was checking the FIFA rankings to see how many countries there are, Pakistan is apparently ranked 198 out of 211, down with all the meme federations like Gibraltar/Liechtenstein/various islands and British Overseas Territories that barely have enough people on them to field a squad. I mean I know I probably shouldn't be surprised that a bunch of inbred retards are that bad but somehow I kinda am given the sheer number of them you think they'd manage to at least hangout with the actual, if still shit, countries.

Burnley 42 games played. 13 goals conceded, just 8 from open play. The only records in Europe I could find were 11 in a 30 games season and of course the 15 goals in 38 from Chelsea. The record in Europe for a 46 game season is 21 goals in 1953/54. Absurd numbers continue, 4 games left. They're top of the table too.

This would probably kill the excitement of the World Cup. Or at least, I hope it would. That's the only way to make them stop doing bullshit like this

I should do a deep dive into the league's soon

Burnley very good or something like that.
Do you think Burnley have a chance to survive premiership next season ?
Last season I saw predictions for mid table and they ended up behind Luton and with their manager (who they were so confident in his future to not fire him even with the poor results) gone.

All promoted teams to the premier league are heading to getting relegated for the second season in a row.

I'm not even claiming they're very good, I just think it's cool that they've not conceded many goals in so many games. it's unprecedented in history. I honestly believe they would've stayed up last season if Kompany wasn't such an egomaniac who could only play his way, though. There were so many games they threw away from passing out from the back. it worked out for him getting a better job, but it meant an ok team that might've survived got relegated.

I know the argument of "the gap is too big", but if you look at the individual teams, their talent identification is shocking, and there are strong reasons they've been relegated that aren't due to "the gap being too big." Just 2 seasons ago, ALL of the teams that came up stayed up, The gap has got huge in the past 2 years? No, the teams that came up have made mistakes and have been punished. Everton had a points deduction, made no transfers for two years, and it wasn't the money that kept them up; it was the way they played and making the right decisions while also being against teams that were making all the wrong moves. Hopefully, Man City get charged, relegated, and Ipswich stay up.

They just want more money.

Now imagine if shit footie countries like China and India get to participate in the WC, their view numbers would explode. But of course the quality would be worse...

Now some cruel stuff:

See this woman covering her face? Why would she do it in a backstage filiming of their 5x0 victory?

Turns out that she was engaged to this dude, who found out she was cheating on him on a fucking backstage video, he was told that she was going to work. He knew the dude in the image and they work together.

He checked the pants and the tattoo and confirmed it was her. He broke off the engagement but doesn't change the fact, that he found out he was being cheated on by watching a fucking football video. That is kinda funny but sad at the same time.

Time to catch up on some other league's current drama as the busy part of the season comes up

La Liga
About 7 games remaining, Barcelona lead Real Madrid by 4 points and Atletico by 7 at the top. Bilbao have a 6 point lead in 4th over Villareal (who have a game in hand against Espanyol) and Real Betis are 3 points behind Villareal in the final European spot at the moment. Celta Vigo and Mallorca are 5 points behind Real Betis and Sociedad are 7 points behind. Valladolid are all but relegated with 16 points, Leganes (28) and Las Palmas (29) make up the other 2 relegation spots. Alaves are on 30 points, Champions League contestants this year Girona are on 34 points, Espanyol are on 35 points, Sevilla are on 36 points, and Valencia have turned things around on 37 points. Personally, I think Carlos Corberan should be manager of the year even though it might go to Hansi Flick if Barcelona win the league and Cope del Rey. Valencia bought Carlos Corberan from fucking West Brom, they were in 19th and 4 points off safety. And now they 8 points from relegation with 7 games to go.

Ligue 1
Yeah PSG won but the rest of the table is still interesting. Monaco are in second with 53 points, Marseille hold the final Champions League spot on 52 points, Lyon are on 51 points in 4th (who are still in danger of being relegated with their debts and wage bill), Lille in 5th on 50 points, and Chelsea junior FC (Strasbourg) in 6th on 50 points. Nice are in 7th on 48 and Brest are in 8th with 44 points. Those other spots behind PSG is actually super close and interesting, which gets overlooked due to PSG's dominance. Montpellier are basically relegated with 15 points and 12 points off the relegation playoff with 5 games remaining. St Etienne are 3 points off the relegation playoffs, Le Havre are on 27 in the relegation playoffs, and Reims are safe with 29 points. Angers and Nantes are on 30, Toulouse are on 34 and Rennes is maybe the only other one who could get in the relegation battle on 35. So St Etienne will freak out with their relegation struggles and the european places will be fun to watch

Serie A
Inter lead Napoli at the top by 3 points with Atalanta dropping off with 6 games to go. Champions League spots are being contested by Atalanta on 61, Juventus on 59, Bologna on 57, and Lazio on 56. Roma are outside Europe on 54, Fiorentina on 53, and AC Milan the last team who can compete with 51 points. At the bottom, Monza are basically relegate with 15 points, Empoli and Venezia have 24 points and in the relegation zone. Lecce have 26 points, Parma have 28 points, and Cagliari are probably the last team in this with 30 points. Mid table between 10-14th seem to not be able to catch the top and not get relegated so theres only 2 sides of the table that are somewhat interesting to watch.

Bundesliga
Bayern have a 6 point lead with 5 points to go, which basically give them the league. Leverkusen will comfortably finish in second as they have a 12 point gap over 3rd place. Frankfurt on 51 points in third, Leipzig in 4th on 48 points, Mainz of all teams are in 5th with 46 points. Freiburg are on 45 points and holding the last European place. Monchengladbach have 44 points, Dortmund, Werder Bremen, and Augsburg all have 42 points. Stuttgart is maybe the last team who can compete for Europe with 40. The relegation battle is basically who can get into the playoff as St Pauli is in 15th and safe with 29 points and 16th is Heidenheim on 22 points. Bochum is on 20 points and Holstein Kiel is in last with 18 points so any of those teams could get that playoff position

Scotland
The second phase is underway and Celtic have a 15 point gap over Rangers. Rangers have a 13 point gap over Hibernian in 3rd so who cares. Relegation side has St. Johnstone on 29 points and a 5 point gap with Dundee on 34 points. The bottom team gets relegated and that's only if the Scottish Premiership champion meets the qualifications for the Scottish premiership. 4th, 3rd, and 2nd play a relegation battle to play the second from bottom to get promoted. Right now Dundee is in that spot with 34 points but Ross County and Kilmarnock have 35 points. In the Scottish Championship, Falkirk have 70 points, Livingston have 64 points, Ayr have 59 points, Partick Thistle have 48 points and Raith Rovers have 46 points. I can't really tell if these are real teams or not

EFL Championship
Leeds United and Burnley are tied at the top with automatic promotion on 88 points with 4 games to go. Sheffield United are on 83 points, Sunderland in 4th on 76 points, Bristol City on 64, Coventry on 63, West Brom, Middlesbrough, and Millwall on 60, Blackburn and Watford on 56 and that's basically it for the promotion battle. In the relegation battle, Plymouth Argyle and Luton have 40 points, Cardiff on 42, Derby County on 43, Hull on 45, Portsmouth on 46, Stoke on 47, and Oxford are on 48 points. Leeds United play 3 teams in the relegation battle zone coming up, so they are probably getting promoted again. Burnley have to play Watford, QPR, Millwall, and Sheffield United to finish up so they clearly have the harder run in for promotion. Burnley will end up playing Watford on the 18th and then Sheffield United on the 21st. If they come away with 2 wins, that should promoted them.

Portugal
5 games remaining here and Sporting and Benfica are tied at 69 points. Both teams will end up playing each other on the second to last match day which might decide things, although Benfica have to play 3rd place Braga on the last match day which could cause issues. Braga are on 60 points and FC Porto are on 59 points which is basically the entire European places. Don't think Vitoria on 48 points are going to catch anyone. Boavista is the only club with an actual logo on Google that is in the relegation zone and they are dead bottom

Netherlands
Last one to update is Holland with 5 games to go. Ajax have turned this around with 73 points at the top. PSV is on 64 points in the other Champions league spot. Feyenoord are on 59 points and Utrecht are in the final European place with 56 points. Twente are on 48 points with AZ Alkmaar and Go Ahead Eagles on 46 points are the last ones competing for Europe. Willem II are in the relegation playoffs with 24 points, RKC Waalwijk and Almere are on 19 points in the relegation. Don't think anyone down there is catching NAC or PEC Zwolle on 31 points.

This has been your update

I wonder how many spots OFC would get. New Zealand are the obvious first place, but the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu could also be in the World Cup.

Exciting Champions League games so far today, in spite of the first halves last week. Villa are within a goal on aggregate (were down 2, now 4-5) to PSG. Dortmund managed to claw two goals back from Barca... when they scored an own goal to put it back to 3 on aggregate (2-5).

Still a sight better than last week's slaughter with these teams.
