Schalke played their worst season in club history this year, ranking 14th out of 18 teams in 2. Bundesliga, only 3 points ahead of the 16th rank (Braunschweig) that has to play relegation matches against a 3rd tier team. They had the 3rd worst defence, with only 2 goals less conceived than Braunschweig.

Now reports are coming in that Schalke 04 is signing Miron Muslic from Plymouth Argyle FC as new coach. I don't follow 2nd tier football in England or below so I had to look it up. Plymouth ranked 23rd out of 24 teams and got relegated.

:story:

I know pre-season games normally don't matter, but I thought you lads might be interested to know that Yanchester United got thrashed by the brownoids of my local area.

It's never been more over for United.
There's an interesting quote from Amorim in the BBC article about it:

There are still around 10,000 tickets left for Friday's game at the 40,000-capacity Hong Kong stadium.

Asked why, having seen what they had just witnessed, why local fans should pay to watch United, Amorim drew on his experiences as a Benfica-supporting youngster in Portugal.

"If you can afford it – and that is the important thing - then you support your club," he said.
Yeah nah, he can fuck right off. This idea that fans should be willing to pay no matter what, even as literally everything about the team and going to games continues to get worse and more expensive is bollocks.

Reports are popping up that the Elversberg coach is going to be the new coach in Bremen.

- Bremen announced to have signed the Elversberg-coach as their new coach.

- Bayern has announced that Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen has joined them.

- And speaking of Man United. There is a video going around that shows Diallo flipping of some fans in Malaysia (post on Reddit). Later it was reported he did it bc of "serial personal abuse" from the fans (dailymail article).
There is also a video showing some fan paying for the scooter for United players (post on Reddit).

Sorry if this isn't the best thread but surely someone here knows.
Football manager 2024 is on sale and I'm thinking about buying it but i'm hesitant because they removed some shit due to licensing and added female clubs & leagues (lol).

Is it good/bad and worth the punt? I've a lot of hours in previous versions but stopped in 21.
24 is generally considered decent, my most recent is 20 (could never be the kind of retard that buys every single one, they're all the same outside of database changes and minute tweaks to things no-one asked for)
All the original content is present in 24. What you're thinking of was FM25 which was having International management removed for the womens leagues

I say 'was' because SI fucked 25 up so hard they had to cancel it. It was quite the amusing situation and I'm looking forward to September for it to either be caught in delay hell again and/or release broken

Turns out doing the bare minimum of work is beyond Miles and his band of retards

Ha. The part I left out of my previous comment was back in 2021-22 I replied to a a miles tweet calling him a lazy bastard. He suggested I don't buy the game, so I haven't since. I'd have acquired it by other means but the guy who was "fixing" denuvo is seemingly awol.

I'd say yes. It's a good fm, and worth it for what it's going for on Steam atm. There are issues that plague every fm that are still present but nothing that's bad enough to deter someone from getting and enjoying it. My biggest gripe is how invasive the Saudi influence is but it can be nice when you need to offload players and make a quick buck. And there's no womens football bollocks in the game, least I don't think there is, I think that was supposed to be in 25 (which btw - SI went so woke that they may have all but killed the golden goose trying to shoehorn that shit in when nobody was fucking asking for it, fucking retards).

As far as licenses go, just download the files that basically turn it into a triple a sim management game. (Real names, kits, df11 pack, etc.)

Mbappe left to win a champions league only to leave, win nothing, and watch his boyhood club win the big'n without him the very same season. Big fucking oof there, buddy.

You really have to sit back and enjoy watching the state-run club underdogs winning a trophy, don't you!

Fuck Paris. Fuck Manchester.. fuck the uefa.Fuck this arab guy. Fuck Q!atar. Fuck mbappe. Im drunk and pissed. fuck everything, never going to watch the Chmapions League Football is dead.

So I went to a little pub with some frens to watch the match. The place was so absolutely stacked with people that we couldn't get a place inside. So we said Fuck it, occupied a table outside and thus couldn't actually see anything from the match itself. As we were sitting around and drinking and eating one of us headed for the toilets and as he came back he was like "guys, 2:0 Paris and a red card for Inter". We all thought he was just fucking with us but nope, it was around the 30th minute and yes, it was really 2:0 for Paris and Inter had seen a red card. We didn't know bc there was absolute no reaction from anyone inside the pub to what was happening. We just thought it was 0:0 the whole time bc we never heard anyone cheer or curse or or yell at the tvs or whatever. That whole place was pro-Inter and just watched in total shock what was happening.

And I'm legit pissed. Now two of the absolute worst clubs in the world, Manchester City and P$G, actually won one of the most prestigious club titles. I actually fucking hate P$G. P$G is fucking evil. It's not only their infinite money cheat code, it's so much more. That fucking Quatari sabotaged the whole League 1 with their current tv deal. That asshole fucked over a whole league so his pet project can profit although they already had everything to dominate the league. And this piece of shit helped Man City to get away with their financial cheating. If you don't hate P$G you don't love football. It's that simple for me. I don't care that P$G of 2025 actually build a squad instead of a bunch of superstars or plays actual good offensive football (they do). Modern corporate football sucks and P$G is one of the results of these developments. They changed the mode of the CL and P$G immediately wins the CL. Fuck this garbage. Out of principle I'm against that new modus operandi now.

There is one club I love, there are a few clubs I sympathize with and a lot of clubs that don't bother me or I don't have any feelings of any sort about. And there are only a very few clubs that I outright hate. Modern Man City and P$G are two of them, besides all of the Red Bull ad clubs. And now Inter. Because these fucking clowns are responsible that Man City and P$G before won the CL. They handled both clubs their CL wins. And yesterday they didn't even try. Not only won P$G finanlly the CL they even scored the highest win in a CL final. These Inter turds made me believe that the final would be a great match giving their performances against Barcelona. And they didn't even try. If you lose a final 5:0 you didn't try. Period. And you'd think that after already losing a CL final just two years ago would motivate them enough to give it all and go even beyond. But they didn't.

Out of spite I'm going to support AC Milan from now on. That's how autisticly ass mad I'm right now.

@Onni Kalsarikännit 's spiel makes me not feel so bad about the American model lmao. I've always kinda disliked the financial restraints but always understood it and accepted it. But after having watched football for some years (almost 13 now) and seeing the rise of City and PSG, maybe we've been onto something over here lol. Baseball is closer to football though with the laxed restraints and so you have the Gaynkees (I saw them win more in elementary school than I have the rest of my life, fucking losers :sighduck:) and the Dodgers. Outside of that though it's more or less an even playing field. No Qatari is going to buy the Utah Jazz and propel them to 3 consecutive NBA Finals wins because his pockets are deep.

Sorry to my Eurobros that grew up on football like I grew up on our sports over here and have seen money come in and all but ruin it. *sigh*

Even I get frustrated sometimes and I haven't even been around that long all things considered.
