Welp, looks like the South American surge fizzled out as soon as it appeared.

Oh well, a defeat for Flamengo is a net win for Brazil.

I only fully watched the Fluminense game. I even forgot the other game but got reminded when it was '79.

Then I watched some of the most insane matches in the tournament. It was amazing as hell. Damn, CWC is so damn good

He was only 28 and had gotten married 5 days ago too. Tragic..
Spanish newspaper AS reports:

"Jota was traveling with his brother on the A52 through the municipality of Cernadilla overnight. At around 12:30 a.m. this Wednesday, according to this newspaper, after an initial investigation, it is believed that the Lamborghini they were traveling in may have suffered a tire burst while trying to overtake. This caused the car to leave the road, which proved fatal. The car ended up in flames, and the fire proved fatal for both Portuguese footballers.

The Civil Guard, the Zamora Provincial Council Fire Department, and an Emergency Medical Unit attended the scene with the necessary medical personnel, but they were unable to prevent the tragic end of the Liverpool player"

RIP Diogo

I'm just now realizing Jota himself died and I'm in disbelief. I woke up at like 5 something this morning and the way I read the headline on ESPN I thought Jota's brother died in a single car wreck. I can't believe this. RIP, man. Fuck.

But god damn the scousers are going to milk this forever
You should see what Fabrizio Romano is doing. He's made eleven different posts about him on Instagram rehashing pictures of him, his wedding photos and tributes from his teammates. It was nice at first but now he's clearly doing it for clicks. And his comments are full of people telling him to stop posting so much about him but he keeps doing it.

It gets even worse. His Facebook had over 20 posts milking his death in the 2-3 hours after the announcement was made. He's such a fucking ghoul.
