Final match day for the EFL is tomorrow and there are some games that are worth watching so let me lay them out for you

Championship
Coventry is locked in as the league champs and Southampton have locked themselves into the playoffs. At the bottom of the table, Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, and Oxford are confirmed relegated, so lets go over the teams who matter this weekend. Ipswich Town (81), Millwall (80), and Middlesbrough (79) are all competing for the last automatic promotion to the premier league. Ipswich holds the GD advantage with Middlesbrough 5 GD behind and Millwall having no chance to catch the others. The other race is for the final place in the playoffs between Wrexham (70), Hull (70), and Derby County (69). Wrexham hold a 1 GD advantage over Hull while Derby County hold a 5 GD over Wrexham, so the teams are going to need to win and win big to make that final spot.

Games to watch
Sheffield Wednesday vs West Brom (Sheffield Wednesday need to win to avoid having negative points for the season lol)
Hull vs Norwich City
Wrexham vs Middlesbrough (Game of the day)
Millwall vs Oxford
Ipswich Town vs QPR
Derby County vs Sheffield United

League One
Lincoln City and Cardiff City are guaranteed promotion. Lincoln guaranteed win the league. For relegation, Port Vale, Rotherham, and Northampton have been confirmed relegated. Bolton (75) are confirmed to be in the playoffs, but could be anywhere from 3rd through 5th. Stockport (74) and Bradford City (74) are somewhat confirmed although Bradford City have a worse GD than everyone else in the race for the playoffs, so it could spell trouble. Stevenage (72) hold the last spot in the playoffs. Chasing them are Luton Town (71) and Plymouth (70). The GD for everyone are as follows: Stockport 11, Bradford City 6, Stevenage 2, Luton Town 11, Plymouth 11. League One and League Two are strange in that they have 4 promoted/relegated sides so there is still one relegation spot in play. This comes from Exeter City (49) who are still technically alive as they could pass Leyton Orient (51) on the final day

Games to watch
Leyton Orient vs Burton
Exeter City vs Bradford City (Going to call this one my game of the day. Bolton and Luton are pretty big as well, but with Bolton confirmed in the playoffs, this one feels bigger. A draw doesn't help either team, so they both will need to win this game to achieve their goals.)
Stevanage vs Wigan Athletic
Northampton vs Plymouth
Bolton vs Luton Town
Barnsley vs Stockport

League Two
MK Dons and Bromley are promoted (No spots are settled on where they finish but they will both be top 3). Salford City and Notts County are confirmed in the playoffs. Outside of that, everything is in play. Cambridge United (81) are currently sitting in the last spot to go up but Salford City (80) and Notts County (79) can still take that final spot. Grimbsy Town (77) and Chesterfield (76) are the last two in the playoffs but Swindon Town (75) are still in the mix with Barnet (73) who are technically still eligible to qualify as they have a better GD than both Swindon and Chesterfield. The last in the table is Barrow (36) who are technically still alive but need to make up an 4 GD against Harrogate Town (39) who are the other team in the relegation zone and Crawley Town (39) who are out of the relegation zone thanks to a 4 GD lead. Still eligible to go down are Newport County (40) who have the second worst GD in the league (-30 GD and only beated by Barrow on -32 GD) and Tranmere (40) with a -25 GD. So technically no team has been relegated but realistically, 4 teams are fighting for that last relegation spot.

Games to watch
Barrow vs Newport County
Tranmere vs Grimsby Town
Harrogate Town vs Barnet
Crewe Alexandra vs Cambridge United (Game of the day. Barrow vs Newport, Tranmere vs Grimsby Town, and Crawly vs Salford are really big, but this one will directly impact the final day results. The other ones could potentially overturn the results with different results.
Swindon Town vs Chesterfield
Notts County vs Bristol Rovers
Crawley Town vs Salford City

This is funny. If like the rest of the league you hate Hollywood fc.

Wrexham vs Middlesbrough (Game of the day)
Millwall vs Oxford
Ipswich Town vs QPR
Derby County vs Sheffield United
Sheffield Wednesday won 2-1 and ended up with 0 points on the season. They also have new owners which wiped out a 12 point deduction that would have been hit on them for next season
Hull won 2-1
Wrexham tied Middlesbrough 2-2
Millwall won 2-0
Ipswich won 3-0
Derby County lost 1-2

Ipswich win gives them the second automatic promotion, leaving Millwall as the top seed in the playoffs. Middlesbrough's draw put them as 5th in the table and kept Wrexham out of the playoffs by 2 points. Hull's win puts them over Wrexham while Derby's loss kept them below Wrexham.

Leyton Orient vs Burton

Stevanage vs Wigan Athletic
Northampton vs Plymouth
Bolton vs Luton Town
Barnsley vs Stockport
Leyton Orient tied Burton
Exeter City lost 1-2 to Bradford City
Stevenage won 1-0
Northampton lost 2-3 to Plymouth
Luton won 3-2
Barnsley lost 1-3 to Stockport

Stevenage win helped them hold off both Luton and Plymouth to get the last playoff spot. Exeter's loss kept them from taking advantage of Leyton Orient's draw as a win would have kept them safe on goal differential

Barrow vs Newport County
Tranmere vs Grimsby Town
Harrogate Town vs Barnet
Crewe Alexandra vs Cambridge United (Game of the day. Barrow vs Newport, Tranmere vs Grimsby Town, and Crawly vs Salford are really big, but this one will directly impact the final day results. The other ones could potentially overturn the results with different results.
Swindon Town vs Chesterfield
Notts County vs Bristol Rovers
Crawley Town vs Salford City
Barrow lost to Newport 1-2
Tranmere and Grimsby tied 1-1
Barnet beat Harrogate 2-1
Crewe and Cambridge tied 0-0
Chesterfield beat Swindon 2-1
Notts County tied Bristol 1-1
Crawley and Salford tied 0-0

Bromley, MK Dons, and Cambridge all get promoted as Salford cannot take advantage of a Cambridge draw. Barnet's loss keeps them out of the playoffs as Grimsby Town draw was enough to take the final spot (Barnet win would have put them 1 point over the top). Swindon winning would have still put them out of the playoffs on goal differential. Barrow and Harrogate losses confirm their relegation to non league. Newport's win, tranmere and crawley draws confirm their safety as they do not need to rely on goal differential to survive

It’s fucking beautiful, is what it is. I hope Wrexham fail miserably, if only to prove that bullshit yanks throwing silly money at some random team so they can get a tv show out of it is a shit way to run a football club. Letms see how long the ‘fight and win’ crowd stick around when they’re not guaranteed promotions and wins.

Dreading the World Cup. I’m actually surprised more nations aren’t boycotting it, but I guess Scotland are just happy to be there. I’ll be doing my usual ‘anyone but England’ support.

All well and good having a football team that gets its fans from America that love the journey of winning and such but this 2nd season in the championship might hit them hard. There is a ceiling on their success that is very hard to break through, who wants to watch a team just sitting around mid table or yo yo between divisions?
The Sunderland one worked perfectly because they made a documentary thinking they would bounce back up and to everyone's shock they were relegated again, then once people were invested they made it every other year about their struggle back to the Premier League. The Wrexham one is just Americans that love winning finding after 3 seasons that the team is no longer too good for the division they're in, these fucks are fickle and will jump when it gets boring af this season and the next one.
Those inflated sponsorships will dry up too once the novelty wears off...

Get fucked Disney FC
I get why hating them is fun, but if this was just a random team, they would be one of the more entertaining teams.

41 goals scored over 12 games, average of 3.416 goals per game. Sitting down to watch their games gives you absolutely no idea of how it will go

FC Thun, who were promoted just last year from Switzerland's 11th biggest city, have just won the Swiss Super League. They won it with 3 games remaining, thanks to a 3-0 loss by St. Gallen to 4th place Sion.

If you want to watch absolute kino, listen to the full 7 minute rant from Richie Wellens against his Leyton Orient squad after a 2-2 draw kept them in League One

Manchester United beat Liverpool 3 - 2 all thanks to a Kobbie Mainoo masterclass performance
There's a lot of shit you could point to as examples of Amorim shitting the bed at Utd, but seeing how Mainoo is playing now compared to the fact that Amorim straight refused to start him is probably up there as one of the bigger ones.

now United have secured their position to the UCL next season
Considering how we performed last season and the start of this one, I thought the goal of getting back into the Europa league let along the UCL, was a pipe dream. The turnaround has been genuinely impressive.

I hope Villa Park gets leveled by some kind of disaster and Emery stubs his toe every day for the rest of his life. And that Forest pump them 20-0 thursday

Useless cunts had one job

If you subscribe to the Athletic's FC newsletter (which is free), you can read almost all the articles for free by clicking through from the email. It does mean you'll need a NY Times account.
