The latest drama in Brazilian football is about, guess who? Neymar, of course.
Between the whole "will he go to the World Cup" hullabaloo, he's been involved in off-pitch drama on a weekly basis by arguing with demanding fans and the occasional spat with journalists.

Things reached a tipping point after a training session last week where he freaking slapped his teammate Robinho Jr. Yes, the son of that Robinho. The kid got livid and is threatening to leave Santos and fucking sue Neymar. Now our thirty-something wonderkid may have ruined the last chance he had to go to the World Cup.

It really has just been all downhill since he left Barca. He had the world in his hands in 2017 and threw it all away. From the heir apparent to one of the most polarizing and cautionary tales in football history. Sometimes I reminisce about MSN and then get salty when I think about what Neymar took from the world of football by cutting his time there short. Not only as it pertains to that front three but seeing what he could have done as the face of Barcelona in a post-Messi era.

Can you not just be happy for me? I autistically keep you guys up to date in this thread, the least you could do is give me a brief shout out and a "happy for you bro"

Anyways, updates for the other leagues that aren't as competitive as the premier league.

La Liga- Barcelona can win the league in the El Classico match up if they beat Real Madrid and everyone pretty much knows that since they are advertising the crap out of it. What is less known is that Barcelona could win out for the season and reach 100 points for the first time since the 2012/13 season. Atletico Madrid need 3 points to secure champions league next season while Real Betis have a 6 point lead in the Europa League over Celta Vigo. Celta themselves are holding on a 3 point lead for the Conference League over both Getafe and Athletic Club. Real Sociedad have already qualified for Europa League through the cup and Osasuna are 5 points behind the final european spot. For relegation, no team has yet been confirmed relegated. Real Oviedo in dead last (28) are 9 points away from safety (so give it a week or two and they will be relegated). However Levante (33) in 19th and Alaves (36) in 18th are just a point away from Sevilla (37) and the safety spot. Girona, Mallorca, and Elche are all on 38 points with Valencia and Espanyol on 39 points. To give you and idea of how close the relegation battle is with 4 games remaining, Getafe in 7th, who are fighting for a european spot, are only 8 points clear of the drop. Its a shame the top is already decided because the rest of the league is insane

Serie A- Inter won. 12 points ahead with 3 games remaining. Napoli look like they will qualify for champions league as they are 6 points ahead with 3 games remaining. Milan hold a 3 point lead over Roma and Juve hold a 1 point lead over Roma for the final champions league spots. Como are 2 points back of Roma in the Conference League spot while Atalanta are 7 points back from Como with 3 games to go. So its basically just where these 6 teams will finish for european spots. Pisa and Verona are confirmed relegated. The final relegation spot will come down to Cremonese (28) and Lecce (32)

Ligue 1- PSG haven't techincally won it yet, but up 6 points with 3 games remaining is basically a confirmation. Lens just need 1 more point to confirm Champions League, which is huge for this club. Lyon have a 2 point lead over Lille, which decides who will be in the qualifiers and who will be in the league phase next season for Champions League. Rennes in the Europa League are 2 points back from Lille, Monaco are 2 points back from Rennes in the Conference League, and Marseille are 1 point back from Monaco. Metz have been confirmed relegated and Nantes are 5 points back of Auxerre with 2 games to go for the final confirmed relegation spot. Auxerre are 3 points back from Nice for the safe spot and would have to play a promotion/relegation battle for next season.

Bundesliga- 2 games remain for everyone and Bayern have walked away with this a while ago. The worst Dortmund can do is 3rd while Leipzig could still miss out on Champions League. 4th is being contested with Leverkusen, Stuttgart, and Hoffenheim tied on 58 points. Only one gets the final Champions League spot while the other 2 will be confirmed Europa League. Frieburg have a 1 point lead over Frankfurt for the Conference League spot and a 4 point lead over Augsburg. Thanks to a draw against Bayern, Heidenheim are still in the running to maybe survive as they are 3 points back from the relegation playoff spot. St Pauli and Wolfsburg are tied on 26 points while Werder Bremen seem safe as they are 6 points ahead of Wolfsburg and St. Pauli but if they are caught, the goal differential might swing against them.

I hope Villa Park gets leveled by some kind of disaster and Emery stubs his toe every day for the rest of his life. And that Forest pump them 20-0 thursday

Useless cunts had one job
I hope for that every day of my life tbf, but it’s nice to have company in wanting a giant sinkhole to open up under that part of Brum.

They absolutely threw that game. You can’t tell me that wasn’t deliberate. There’s so much money and influence in the Big 6 that I don’t believe any of them would be allowed to be relegated. A nice relegation struggle drama would shake things up for the tv viewers, though, as well as a neat resurrection arc and a ‘look where they were X year(s) ago and now they’re champions’ story.

The more I watch the PL, the more suspicions I have.

The rise of clubs like Brighton has given way too many idiot rich forruns ideas for new revenue streams. None of them give a fuck about football. I hope they all fail. The way top level football is funded is a huge issue.

That and these teams bore the fuck out of me. They’re supposed to be lower league teams, bugger off and let the likes of the Baggies, Blackburn, Cov and Wednesday shine instead.

Sometimes I feel the off-field drama is more exciting than the on-field game in Brazil. In many South American countries, actually. It’s like F1 but with more people (and more opportunities for craziness).

Neymar is a strange bloke. Seems intent on shooting himself in the foot over and over.

happy for you bro

Happy for you bro but I still want to see rather FC Bayern win the CL bc if they win Bundesliga might end up with an extra slot for the CL which means we might end up with having 8 teams in Europe which means Frankfurt might at least play Conference League) or P$G win the CL bc it would be at least very funny to see them win the CL t w i c e i n a f u c k i n g r o w without Mbappe after he left two years ago.

This is what modern football does to us. We root for the most evil teams just bc we might get some breadcrumbs or bc it's funny.

Freiburg (of all teams) can help as well if they can win in the Europa League. Actually I think if they win it, they'd get their own CL spot, and likely qualify Germany for another spot (via league/nation coefficient), but I don't know if that knocks out a Europa or Conference League spot that Freiburg would likely otherwise have (in 7th right now?).

What about now?

Anyways, Mbappe ruining Real Madrid while PSG perform better without him is really really funny
My math might be off, but if I did the math right (American decimal points, sorry):
If Freiburg lose tomorrow, it's over. Spain gets an extra CL spot and Germany gets 4+2+1.

Freiburg winning tomorrow with Rayo Vallenco losing, would put Germany ahead (I think) by 0.004. With no more teams in competition for Spain, Germany would claim #2 in league coefficient and thus the extra CL spot. Freiburg then winning the Europa League would give them an automatic Champions spot and... I don't know if someone else gets their (potentially) Europa or Conference spot. I think it goes to the next highest qualifying winner of one of the smaller leagues, but I can't find that info on a search.

If both Freiburg and Rayo Vallenco (the last Spanish team competing in Europe, in Conference) win, the gap closes 0.31 (from difference of 0.42 today - Bayern losing didn't do anything). Freiburg would then have to win the Europa final, and Rayo Vallenco would have to lose the Conference final, for Germany to overtake. If both win out, I think the coefficients end up at 22.41 for Spain and 22.21 for Germany.

Edited: my math was shit, did the work on the edit.

Take this with a grain of salt, spanish journalist are saying Tchouameni and Valverde had a fight yesterday then had another one today and Valverde had to go to the hospital. Last few days they're also saying the locker room is completely broken: Rudiger slapped Carreras (confirmed by Carreras), Bellingham hates Mbappe, Mbappe is actually fine and is just pretending to be hurt because he doesn't want to play with Real Madrid for the rest of the season and he's mad at the club since they got rid of Xabi Alonso, also 6 players refuse to talk to Arbeloa.

It's all believable tbh having watched Real quite a bit this season. The dynamic has certainly changed since Mbappe joined. I said it before but the team just looks disjointed. Sports teams only function as efficient as they possibly can when everyone is on the same page, and these players (primadonnas) are just not on the same page. I don't mind though, fuck em.

They never should've gotten rid of Ancelotti.
He knows how to wrangle inflated faggot egos.
The only way to get the locker room back in check is a southern gentleman with a whip and no patience for drama.

More info on the Valverde-Tchouameni fight, Valverde accused Tchouameni of leaking yesterday's fight (just a heated argument, they got separated before it got physical), Tchouameni got mad and punched Valverde, he fell to the ground, hit something, got cut and had to be taken to a hospital. Some reports say Valverde was so dizzy after the punch he had to leave in a wheelchair:lol:.
