Ok so fun results from around Europe.

Spain

Real Betis made the fifth place for champions league while Celta and Real Sociedad will play in Europa League. Getafe managed to beat out Rayo Vallecano and Valencia for the final spot in Europe. Real Oviedo was the first confirmed relegated club and they will be joined by former Champions League team Girona and Mallorca. Unfortunately for Mallorca, they lost out on tie breakers to Osasuna and Levante (all 3 finished on 42 points). To illustrate how crazy the final day was, Girona tied Elche which took Elche 1 point above the crazy tie breakers. Had Girona won, they would have leapt above the tie breaker relegation scrap. Getafe beat Osasuna to qualify for Europe and that put Osasuna in the tie breakers to survive. Any other result would have kept Osasuna safe but Getafe would have missed out on Europe due to Rayo Vallecano beating Alaves, who were safe. Real Betis beat Levante on the final day which ended up not mattering. Levante had tie breakers but with a point or more, they would have been safe while Real Betis had already qualified for Champions League. Sevilla and Alaves were on 43 points with Elche which could have put the relegation battle into even more chaos. Certainly the best relegation battle in Europe

Italy

Thanks to final day wins from Roma (beating Verona) and Como (beating Cremonese) they lept over Milan (who lost to Cagliari) to take the final 2 champions league spots. Juventus will join Milan in Europa League after tying the Turin derby against Torino. Atalanta's draw against Fiorentina kept them above Bologna, who also drew against Inter to take the Conference League. Even though Cremonese lost, Lecce didn't leave it up to chance and beat Genoa to survive relegation.

Portugal

The Taca de Portugal finished yesterday with Torreense beating Sporting Lisbon with a late penalty. They managed to score an early goal, gave up a second half goal before Sporting got themselves a red card in stoppage time. Torreense, for those of you looking at the Liga Portugal table, are actually in the second division. They finished third this season, missing out on promotion by goal differential (I think). So they will be playing in Europe next season while also playing in the Portuguese second division. I can only remember Portsmouth and Wigan getting into Europe while playing in the second division but they got relegated when they won the cup

Edit Torreense is in a playoff with Casa Pia from the top division. First leg ended 0-0

First leg of the relegation/promotion matches between 2. Bundesliga team Paderborn and Bundesliga team Wolfsburg ended 0:0.

Yesterday was the rematch.

In "who gives a fuck" news, if anybody in or outside of Scotland thought Hearts would be right there competing again next season; Lawrence Shankland has signed with Rangers. That's a 15/20+ goal a season striker gone. Poof. Up in smoke, along with any hopes of a dark horse winning the SPFL. Congratulations to Celtic or Rangers (most likely Celtic) on the 26/27 title.

Haven't watched the match but checked the stats. What the fuck is this shit?:

Wolfsburg got a red (via two yellows) early in the game. At that point, Paderborn were down 1-0, and had to go to an extra 30 to eventually get the go ahead goal. Hence the unbalanced stats.

Also, fuck Volkswagen.

This was expected. If you don't want to be black pilled on this, you can hope that other investors might look at this and realize that the league could be won with some investment and Champions League is available. Celtic and Rangers are god awful at recruiting and with some proper structuring, investment, and recruitment you could challenge them for Champions League spots

I don't know how they operate in Scotland with club ownership but it really is a league ripe for a Sheikh to come in and flip the country upside down and finally take down the duopoly. Problem is, who the fuck wants to play in Scotland? Lol. It's fun to imagine the possibilities but given a choice, I think most players in the UK would choose playing in any of the top 3 tiers in England over the tinpot SPFL. Which is a shame because Scottish clubs are rich in history and they have great grounds/supporters (not including the fenian bastards).

Meanwhile, in Argentina, this is the result of the championship match played this Sunday

The chickens submit to the pirates since 2011, when they got cucked and relegated at home by this very same team.

I don't think a Sheikh has to come in but I could see a second tier Scottish club get an owner who couldn't get in the premier league and didn't want to work their way up Wrexham style or buy a club in the Big 5 but lower half and try to climb up. They could implement a youth team and a scouting network to get players from League 1, League 2, Conference, Ireland, Wales, and a few different countries in Europe. Then just start grabbing players to fit a system that can just force Celtic and Rangers to continue spending an insane amount of money to try and keep up. If you get the clubs from Dundee, Motherwell, Aberdeen, and Hibernian to continue the trend of Hearts but every other season you could eventually break through. I guess I am just optimistic about Scotland becoming a better league where the level gets to the point that players from the bottom half of the Championship look at a top 6 team in Scotland as a platform to get into the EPL

LiverPOOl are getting fucked in terms of transfers

Konate is probably leaving on a free transfer as contract negotiations seem to fell through
Curtis Jones is leaving for inter for measly 20 million
Andy Robertson leaving on a free
Salah leaving on a free
Chiesa, Endo, Alisson, Harvey Elliot and Joe Gomez are all likely to leave this summer and probably for a cheap price

They need to replace players for almost 10 positions on a low budget :story:

SUFFAH LIVERPOO SUFFAH YOU SCOUSE BASTARDS

Replacing 10 players and getting a new manager. What a fun spot to be in Liverpool

Probably the only bit of positive news coming out of the red side of Livehpewl at the moment. They missed out on Alonso but Iraola is definitely less of a gamble. Still hope they finish 9th next season.

Not sure if Iraola is less of a gamble tbh. Liverpool are in a really shitty situation and I don't think anyone is really prepared to guide them out of that spot. Well anyone except that German they really like
