the brazilian bum can't fuck it up when they opponent doesn't shoot on goal
also back in the day you wouldn't stop going for goals after the break for gay shit like load management and injury prevention. Bet the away fans barely even yelled racial slurs during this game.
this is what a real cup game looks like
Mannheim - Kaiserslautern went into extra time and the Mannheim fans got a bit upset. might get abandoned if the ref is a pussy.
Ok so the reason it appears that Savinho is so expensive is to cover for the fact that City can't sell Marmoush for more than 59 mil pounds due to a sell on clause that Frankfurt get. While it seems shady, I doubt there is any legal ramifications here

Doubt Frankfurt can do anything about it but I'm sure 1. Frankfurt won't forget and 2. other clubs might notice too. which might torpedo future deals for Man City.

Manchester tricked people into thinking they were good last season. They had good results but were pain to watch. Add to it wasted transfer window and here you go.

It's DFB cup weekend but I'll do a recap tomorrow bc today are still a few matches left to be played.
And while it's DFB cup weekend two teams didn't play bc they played for the "Franz Beckenbauer cup", formally known as supercup; FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund.
While FC Bayern made headlines for winning the match they also made headlines in Australia. For reasons.
In a week’s time, the proud runners finishing the Sydney Marathon will receive a medal showing the landmarks they have just sped past – plus one they definitely didn’t.
In what organisers have admitted was an “unfortunate error”, a stadium in Munich, Germany, was erroneously etched on to the event’s participation medal instead of a local Sydney landmark.
In an Instagram post on the official Sydney Marathon account earlier this week, revealing the design of the participation medal, runners were told they would “find the story of the course in the details” of the design.
“A beautiful Sydney skyline brings the course to life, featuring the landmarks runners will experience along the way,” the post reads, “starting with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finishing at the world-famous Sydney Opera House”.
However, one of the “landmarks” on the medal is the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, rather than Allianz Stadium in Sydney (which the marathon route passes).
“A little too much international flavour has found its way onto the back of the finisher’s medal, with an incorrect depiction of the stadium,” a TCS Sydney Marathon spokesperson said on Sunday.
“We’re not going to run from it, it was an unfortunate error, though it’s certainly given everyone something to talk about this weekend, mostly in good humour.”
The error was reported by the BBC and noted with amusement by several running blogs. The Munich stadium, which opened in 2005 and is home to the Bayern Munich football team, responded in the comments of one: “Oh wow, we didn’t have that on our bingo card!”
The reverse of the medal features an indigo and gold design by First Nations artist Ambrose Killian, representing kilometres of the course, and the eight global major marathons. Killian told the BBC he was not involved in the other side of the design.
The marathon will take place on 30 August. In 2025, about 35,000 marathoners from more than 120 countries participated in the event – its first year as a World Marathon major event.
Sydney Marathon organisers said it was “a beautiful medal, and now a little more unique”.
“What it represents does not change,” the spokesperson said. “Behind every one of these medals is months of early mornings, long runs and quiet determination, and having it placed around your neck at the Sydney Opera House is a moment our participants will never forget.
“We’re grateful to our participants and partners for taking it in such good humour, and our focus now is where it should be, on delivering a safe, spectacular and unforgettable weekend [event].”
It’s not the first time official medals have run into problems. In 2012, some of the 23,000 runners in the Edinburgh marathon remarked on the rather phallic profile of their finisher’s award.
The first round of DFB cup is done but unfortunately this year 99,9% of the matches were won by the favourite teams. But it started with a bang (literally).
Kaiserslautern played against Waldhof Mannheim and both teams and their fans really don't like each other. For a derby the match was pretty harmless and boring 0:0 until the very last moments of regular time when the player's started getting at each other. Mannheim fans threw stuff on the pitch and especially the Kaiserslautern players which pissed of the Kaiserlautern fans who shot fireworks on the pitch and the Mannheim fans which pissed of the Mannheim fans who started invading the pitch and trying to fight everyone which pissed of the cops who started invading the pitch and peppersprayed the shit out of the Mannheim fans which pissed of the ref who put the match on hold until everyone calmed down. The match was close to being abandoned but after 30 minutes it continued with the extra time. Extra time was much more entertaining but still a 0:0. Mannheim fought bravely and with the penalty shoot out incoming Ibrahim Kanate said "no" and scored the 1:0 in the 124th minute for Kaiserslautern. The post-matches interviews were full of salt, everywhere shit on everyone and the cops had to work extra time after the match outside of the stadium.
Besides that nothing happened on Friday:
- St. Tönis - Eintracht Frankfurt 0:11 (Frankfurt decided showing up for only one half was enough)
- Preußen Münster who got relegated back to 3rd Liga last season played 2nd Liga club Karlsruhe and lost 1:2
- Hansa Rostock got mugged by Stuttgart 0:4
The Saturday brough us one upset win, the rest of the matches ended as expected except two other matches were the big teams were close to being kicked out of the cup.
Arminia Bielefeld, who reached the final two years ago as a 3rd division club and got promoted to 2. Bundesliga the same year, got kicked by out SG Sonnenhof Großaspach, who just were promoted to the 3rd division this year, on penalties.
FC Nuremberg needed to go into penalties to win against lower ranked Viktoria Cologne. The same happened to Hertha Berlin who faced the notorious giant slayers of lower division team FC Saarbrücken (they have a history of beating Bundesliga clubs and even kicked out FC Bayern one year).
Wiesbaden - Leverkusen 0:4 (First half was shit but once the seal was broken Leverkusen got really good. It's only bc of Wiesbaden's goalkeeper that they didn't concede more goals. Leverkusen might be a top 3 team this season)
Cottbus - Augsburg 0:2
Aue - Hoffenheim 0:4
Hemelingen - Hannover 1:9
Duisburg - Elversberg 1:3
Lüneburger SK - Bremen 0:3
Trier - RB Leipzig 0:6
1860 Munich - Kiel 0:2
Funday, Sunday started with an upset and ended with an upset.
In the DFB cup of the 2018/19 season the SSV Jeddeloh II faced FC Heidenheim and lost 1:5. This year both teams met again and the tables turned and Jeddeloh won 5:2. By the way, the "II" doesn't stand for the 2nd team of Jeddeloh. There are actually two tiny villages next to each other and both are named Jeddeloh soinstead of choosing another name they become the second Jeddeloh. Around 1.300 people live in the second Jeddloh.
The day ended with Rot Weiss Essen from the 3rd division kicking FC St. Pauli in the nuts and winning 2:0. St. Pauli is a super woke left wing club full and their fanbase is full of super woke left wing fags while RW Essen has a fanbase full of working class chuds so the good side won. No clashes happened during the match tho.
Fürth - Bochum 1:2 (2nd Bundesliga match up)
Braunschweig - Union Berlin 2:4 (despite the result Berlin was close to losing)
Schott Mainz - Mönchengladbach 0:5
Krieschow - Mainz 05 0:9
Jena - Darmstadt 1:2
Bahlinger SC - Madgeburg 0:4
Westfalia Rhynern - Dynamo Dresden 0:6
Fortuna Düsseldorf - Freiburg 1:5
Phönix Lübeck - Paderborn 2:4
On Monday we saw the remaining matches. No upsets expect VfL Wolfsburg was fucking close to getting kicked out by a lower division team. You know, Wolfsburg whose squad's worth is among the top 5 of Bundesliga but who went down to 2. Bundesliga last season bc they fucking deserve it. They only beat the VSG Altglienicke from the 4th division on penalties bc that's how much Wolfsburg fucking sucks.
Hamburg beat Verl 3:0, 1. FC Cologne was also close to losing and only beat the Würzburger Kickers 2:1 while FC Schalke was also fucking close to getting kicked out. They needed to go to extra time against Halle but then Schalke made it a clear cut win tho (5:2).
Next week Dortmund and FC Bayern play their matches, Dortmund is going to face a 4th division club from Hamburg while Bayern faces Osnabrück who are freshly promoted back to 2nd Bundesliga but are number 1 contender for getting relegated back so both matches should end with clear wins for the big teams.
Overall not a bad first round although not enough upsets for my personal taste.
Villa fans whinging about ffp like they havent been spending absurd amounts of money and picking apart other teams. Like, happens to brighton season after season and they only get better
Also lol @Celtic blowing a 3-0 first leg against LASK
