I played Dungeon Siege back in the day, and I really enjoyed that you had a full team of companions on single player, that you could specialize each companion into a different role, equip them individually, and take control of each one at any time.

I know there are Dungeon Siege sequels, but it's really hard to get them to run on a modern PC.

Are there any newer RPGs with a similar system, or at least where you can pause combat and order teammates to use certain skills? Any setting is fine, sci-fi or fantasy. Doesn't have to be isometric; 1st/3rd person works too. Just needs to have RPG mechanics with skills/equipment/character progression.

Thank frens.

depends, would you play weeb stuff?

I'd prefer not to, but what's your recommendation? If the gameplay is quality enough, I might check it out and suffer through the terrible aesthetic.

yeah thats an issue, youre gonna have to sit through a borderline dating/life sim, and everything that comes with that. But the fighting system in persona 4 is fucking gold. Control of the whole team, you can make it challenging and you fuse your "weapons" personas to get better ones.
For me it is probably the most satisfying system ive ever seen.

-Bug tales if you like paper mario
-Valkyria Chronicles 3/4 if you like Fire emblem
- Gears tactics if you like xcom
-Telling lies if you liked Her Story
- Salt and sanctuary if you like dark soul

edit:sorry Op I just read the title title and thought this thread was for general game recommendation

Shadowrun Returns, Dragonfall and Hong Kong. All very inexpensive. Hong Kong is my favorite, Dragonfall a close second, Returns was iffy. Play the other two first.

Divinity original sin 1 and 2 are fantastic turn based games. Solid story, extremely fun combat, and definitely fun builds to experiment with. You can play them with a friend or two as well.

Freedom Force if you want one that is real-time.
Also Baldur's Gate 1&2, Pillars of Eternity 1 &2 or Pathfinders.

Divinity Original Sin 2 is probably exactly what you want. Baldur's Gate 3 would also fit the bill but it's still getting updated at this point in time.

If you want weeb stuff you have the following:
Legends of heroes Trails in the Sky 1-3
Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 1-4

Hell if you want it a bit more Action-y, I'd say Ys 8 and Ys 9 would work too. However Tales of Arise just came out and that's a phenomenal Action RPG.

Jagged Alliance 2, when in combat it is turnbased but otherwise it's like an isometric RPG. And if you want sci-fi then make sure the sci-fi toggle is checked. Unbelivable game according to me and some other crustaceans. Other than that, maybe take a look at Disco Elysium, there's a link to the thread at the bottom of this page.

Also came here to post JA2. First time I tried it I probably sank 13 hours in a single sitting.

Silent Storm is similar, 3D ww2 crpg with beautiful environment destruction.

Blackguards 1 and 2 are breddy gud. But JA2 with the 1.13 patch is the supremo.
