*EDIT!*

Now they're trying to link KF with the IRA.

The fucking IRA. Seriously.

Lmao at GameFags talking about fascist hate sites. Many moons ago when I had an account the tranny jannies there were downright draconian in what was allowed to be said. You’d get banned if you joked about being a fetus while making an account because of their “you must be 13 or older to join” policy.

Damn right they’re mad about us making fun of autists because that’s 99% of their userbase.

lmao @ gf losing their mind over kf when they're the ones with the pedo mod cabal

I swear there was an mod that had a really weird and creepy corporal punishment gimmick. I think their name was War Admiral or something like that, and he was significantly older than much of the userbase. I remember getting pedo vibes from him.

It basically means Fandom is gonna gut the sites articles and then throw the rest away.

From reddit about the last time they bought a site (gamespedia)
TL;DR fandom promised to not really touch the site, then they completely redid how articles are displayed and deleted a ton of pre-existing content from the site

so gamefaqs and a bunch of other old media is getting bought up by something called Fandom. what is that?

Fandom is that company that hosts all those wikis on video games and movies and other media. You've probably seen then before without realizing the name of the company. If you search just about any major title on a search engine one of the top results is usually them.

Any game that has multiple wikis, fandom will always be the bad one, unless the other one is fucking dead.

No, you'll definitely have consciously seen the name. They changed Wikia to it when they started the diarrhea flood of ads and now it's in a big mandatory sidebar that links to random content farm crap.

This is hilarious. For years people have said wikis and Youtube made Gamefaqs obsolete now they're literally getting bought out by a wiki site.

Took a gander at CE. They're worried about how many ads will pop up now.

Uhhh...these retards still do not use adblock?

Well, these are the same retards who often proudly state that there's nothing wrong with Microsoft Edge, so I think we know what kind of people we're dealing with here.

Ad blockers don't prune the shitty forced sidebars with endless marquees and annoying shit. You need a TamperMonkey script to claw all that shit off their pages to help you hunt for useful material amid the boundless noise.

Gamefaqs has had its share of spinoffs for users too fed up with the jannies.
The biggest one is probably LUElinks, AKA End of the Internet, which has a few thousand active accounts and been around over 15 years. I can't say the place is any more given to offline friendships than most forums, but it's insular enough that they've had frequent meetups.
