I believe so. I think there's a lot of crossover between searching for and understanding the truth behind humanity's reliance on religious lies and gamer reliance on the sorts of narratives that we're trying to overcome in the video game world. I think being a Gamergater and being an atheist is a sign of someone who is capable of looking behind the messages fed to us for the truth. It's inherently more intelligent and maybe even euphoric.
 
This and atheists are just as oppressed as GamerGaters
 
I don't think of it as just being atheistic, I prefer to think of it as being nihilistic.

Deep down, life and existence in general has no meaning, and that there is no such thing as naturally-existing one-size-fits-all "universal" morality (as opposed to being an artificial construct devised for human survival on a case-by-case basis). Even if either thing existed, merely understanding it or abiding by it isn't going to do jack shit about the problems in your immediate life.

So without a true meaning of life or a universal set of morals to live by, you pass your time living by doing things that you simply like to do. For many of us, that's playing video games.

One of the most wonderful things about video games is that it's a neutral form of media--When taken as a collective whole, video games in general are not supposed to skew towards any specific meaning or morals. The absence of a pre-defined meaning or morality allows devs to create fun, interesting titles that distract from the drugery of real life and all the crap inherrent in it.

When some pretentious asshole tries to shape the video game market under the guise that life has meaning and there is such thing as "universal" morality, then he'll end up controlling what goes in video games as a whole. That means shit gets banned, while other shit gets unwarranted praise.

After all, be it the media-backed SJWs of today or the media-backed bible-thumpers of yesterday, every son of a bitch that has gone after "questionable" content in video games justify themselves using lofty ideals that try to find meaning in life and impose what they see as a "universal" set of morals.

GG is a counter to all that crap. You don't try to fucking shoehorn your meaningless ideals and morals in a medium that is supposed to be enjoyed by people irrespective of such things.

Dude the sidequests you have to do to get into heaven just to access him are super lame and boring. Otherwise you have to grind your way through purgatory.

I'm working on beating God with 0.25 A presses. That's when you think about pressing A but you don't. Thinking about pressing A is fully 1/4 of an A press according to recent scientific studies.
