You also shouldn't buy first-party console controllers because they are very overpriced and of lower quality than the competition because they can get away with doing that due to the power of being brand name.
What competition? God knows I'd be perfectly happy to buy cheaper third-party controllers, but haven't been able to find anything that isn't substantially worse than official stuff since third-party Xbox 360 stock finally dried up.

I've tried so many things to try to find something better than the bog standard Xbox controllers. Some cheaper, some twice the price. I always go back to my Xbox one controller.

That being said I do want one of these new steam controllers. Remappable buttons to actual keyboard keys will be lovely. Unlike all the expensive third party controllers that lie about "remap to anything!" and it's just other controller buttons.

I heard good things about 8Bitdo, but haven't had one myself

I've had 3 8bitdo controllers and have had very mixed experiences with all 3.

First was a knockoff OG playstation-style controller. The potentiometers failed. You could physically feel the flat spots and were registering 80% out of 100% in the lower areas. I contacted 8bitdo support and they told me to change the firmware, because somehow that fixes physically defective pots. I exchanged it with amazon for another and it also had the same issue. Sent that one back and was done with it.

Got their ZOMG ULTIMATE EDITION a couple years later that advertised it worked with everything. It doesn't work with x-input with windows. It's basically a glorified Switch controller. Bluetooth only works with Switch and the only other option is D-input(if I'm remembering correctly). They said they were going to release a firmware update to make it work with better windows, they never did. The irony being the cheaper version of that same controller actually *did* work properly with windows.

Got their basically 1:1 copy of the xbox core controller after that. It's alright. It's a pleasing shade of green. But there was some incorrect advertisement on the color rings. They alluded to them being RGB and changeable... but nope they're fixed colors depending on what color controller you got. So I got this nice green controller but the LED rings around the sticks are just orange and red, that's it. In <current year> where RGB led's cost less than water and are everywhere. But other than that it's alright. The Hall effect sticks aren't very smooth and basically tend to jerk away from center, if that makes any sense.

Oh yeah I bought their original tiny SNES controller that I was going to use to play on my phone but never used it, so no comment on that.

All in all they deliver on around 70-80% on what they advertise, if you're lucky.

I personally use an 8bitdo controller, and I've heard good things about Gamesir. For the record, I have the $30 budget model with potentiometer sticks and even after 2 years there has been no stick drift nor do I have any complaints about it (although I don't game daily).

I'll never understand why people want LEDs on their controllers (or anything else, for that matter) anyway. I always put a piece of electrical tape over that stupid blinding white button in the middle.

These were diffused rings around the sticks that had a few different options. Like fully on, pulsing, and directional. The directional was a pretty nifty little gimmick.

And Fritzboxes are made in Germany. It's not that hard, but governments need to put an end to muh free market and start imposing what's good for their people.
Free market has to go both ways for it to work. I could go on a multi page rant why "muh free market" doesn't apply when disusing tarde with fascist economies like china.

I have an 8Bitdo of some kind that I bought used for a pittance. It's decent but at least the one i have has very aggressive stippling on the back plate and joystick rims. Great D-pad though.

Mikrotik manages to make routers in fucking Lithuania, you're telling me nobody can set up a plant in America?
Lithuanians are White and despite the fact that they have built more concentration camps than universaties, relatively well educated due to the legacy of the USSR. Of course they're more competent than amerimutts.

lol, even if Ammurricans weren't mystery meat livestock Trump has no intention of doing anything good for the remaining White population

I think Steve is leaning too much into conspiracy theories about routers especially with the Musk/Starlink connection.

Sure the policy as it stands is retarded, but TP-Link security being dog shit is not new either.

Consumer protection is a noble goal, but he is currently sniffing too much of his own farts. He is venturing outside of informing the public to almost political commentary,

Console people are an actual menace, we need to be discussing how they can be further disenfranchised

How they spend and hence their overall societal influence has been catastrophically bad for everything they have ever touched
I have a friend who is intelligent and tried to market Microsoft's or Sony's subscription services where you get to play their game library for a monthly subscription. He is a computer gamer too so I asked him if he missed private servers and modding. Oh yes, absolutely gaming was better before. But by renting game access you are fucking the market further, do you not have any responsibility to pay for what you want to see more of? Whadda you mean it's good value for money? Im just a single consumer.

Console gaming: Not even once!

Let me guess, you think it's cool that Musk was friends with Epstein, that makes him eskimo bros with Donald Trump after all?

You mean like NetGear (which just got a pass on imports despite its routers being made in China) due to lobbying (as Steve pointed out) has dog shit security?

If you were sentient you would realize that everything is political. And consumer protection, in particular, like racial protection, cannot be achieved without political action.
