You see once the Neo-Liberals get rid of the whites who don't think like them, they'll finally be free of their sins and all the colored people will flock to them and wish to know of their ways. They shall be the true unbiased caretakers of mankind, ruling over everything forever and ever , benevolent in all their ways. Game development has been destroyed mainly by using the code word “diversity” as an excuse to not hire qualified, and interested people who want to work in video games.

When all the talent are gotten rid of and replaced with diversity hires that lazily project their insecurities about sex, race and gender onto the fanbase that still loves video games, they’ll never understand why they are the ones getting challenged, or ignored, about their opinions.

They seriously act as if they have done nothing wrong, while lambast and spit on the fanbase for respecting their (forced) agendas onto them.

Words can not describe how much I fucking hate the idea that there's something inherently wrong with a group of white men, it shouldn't be a problem any more than a dev team who have zero white men should be (like say, Japanese devs, notice how you never hear complaints about a lack of diversity there)

The only way it would inherently be a problem is if you think there's something inherently wrong with simply being a white man, to which I say, you can kiss this white boy's ass.

Dude the people who decided there's something wrong with a group of white men being all together in a company were other groups of all white men.

it's also hilarious that they're defending a blizz dev who according to twitter and vice are all just a raging horde of misogynists and rapists, and iirc the dev in question was a white male (probably even cis!), which according to schreier shouldn't be allowed to make games these days anyway.

outside of kotaku's usual retardation I hate how devs are propped up to be those infallible beings who know exactly what they're doing and only release perfect games (that opinion isn't limited to game journos). basically you're not allowed to call them out when they produce shit, that would be toxic, and if you vote with your wallet you need to think of the poor little dev who needs every penny, because apparently a customer is in charge of his wages. never mind the whole "but he was working so hard on it, all that crunch!", as if again I'm responsible for his shit managers, work ethic, quality of work and inability to meet deadlines. it's like arguing with fucking children, but those are usually smart enough to understand the simple chain of "fuck up -> no dessert".

You could probably make a hundred of those points - I literally cannot think of a single thing that you could reasonably salvage from current WoW - they've done such a bad job for such a long time it's virtually unfixable without just literally deleting everything (a Realm Reborn style) but that's not an option because WoW has characters that have existed for 16+ years. Blizzard has demonstrated that they have extreme difficulty actually creating new games and WoW2 would likely take the team 10+ years at the current rate.
the worst part is you can point that out, and it will do nothing, if they don't outright defend it. I was complaining about the faction retardation right after vanilla, and the usual reply way "but what about the PVP? it's WARcraft! what about the lore (nigga you really wanna start a discussion about TBC lore)?", as if there's absolutely no other way to do (it's not like other games did so and more), and even a flimsy handwave via story would be more than fine considering the shit they've never stopped eating up.

rate me MATI, but WoW is a shit game designed for shit people. it sounds crass but the truth is "when you built it they will come". when you dumb down your game more and more and focus on specific aspects while neglecting others, it's inevitable you'll end up with a distilled playerbase which is either too ignorant or locked in to stop paying. have enough of those paypiggies and you don't really need to put in any effort anyway (didn't help that the majority of your competition was also fucking retarded), which means improvements aren't necessary if not outright disliked. anyone else who liked other and better games has already left long ago.

For me, the big concern now is archives. With the shift to YouTube, some of the old content is already "lost". There was a dedicated team called "Giant Bomb Unarchived" which saved as many livestreams and other media as they could.

As good as the "best of" compilations that litter YouTube are, most of GiantBomb's best doesn't work outside of the original context. It's like saving a comedy routine, but only saving the punchlines. I remember hearing at some point that GameSpot still has all or most of the golden age GameSpot content on a hard drive somewhere, it's just a hassle to make it work on modern systems.

Brad buying into coof fear mongering doesn't surprise me. Every few weeks Brad would talk about some article he read online about weird exotic animals or unusual diseases that can kill you in horrible ways.
the early stuff like the persona 4/deadly premonition endurance runs look like shit on youtube. the archive quality is better. spent 2 months downloading all the premium shit i enjoyed.

I didn’t know Jason was Jewish until for some reason he had to let his Twitter followers know it. He made that tweet all about himself while humble bragging about how “diverse” he is.
he looks jewish and has a jewish last name and writes for a jew magazine.

I didn't know there was an archive.org page that has most, if not all the free stuff. I was often tempted to get premium, mainly for flight club and the Contradiction playthrough, but never went through with it.

I found a reddit thread of people semi-coordinating archival attempts. Figuring out how much space is needed, sharing tools, that kind of thing. Though it sounds like you've done most of the hard work already.
