Someone who is more familiar with Code Vein will have to confirm this for me. The IGN review of Code Vein has more than 50% dislikes.

They seem to have reviewed the demo.

According to the comments, all of the footage in the review is from the demo, they use stock characters, don't mention the character creator, and lied by saying there's no matchmaking and no option to "sync up with friends".

Edit: @SiccDicc says there is footage outside of the demo.

How do you fuck up a job that is cut and clean as reviewing games I know the standard of journalism and reviewing is so low especially these days where someone Twitter rant can be considered news but just how incompetent can you be at this.

I think they based most of the script off of the demo, but some parts of the video are from outside of the demo. If we're talking the latest version, I didn't get a chance to play the closed beta. You can sync up with friends, though, so I dunno if that's just their own incompetence or their network set up. I haven't seen much in the way of people complaining about it... not as much as with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, at least.

It doesn't seem like they played any clips from beyond the first two maps. So I don't think they got very far.

That sounds reasonable. A commenter accused IGN of doing this sloppy review because they didn't get a review code. If that's true, they likely made the review based on the demo, rushed the first hour or 2 of the full game to see if it's substantially different, and ran the review when everything looked mostly the same as the demo/beta.
 
Another couple of Code Vein reviews. I don't know if it's the game itself, or simply because I'm looking for information on the game, but the hacks are out in force for this one.

First PCGamer's not at all biased review that opens with:
Code Vein is a sexist action RPG about post-apocalyptic vampires that borrows liberally from Dark Souls, while speeding up and complicating its combat in ways that I really like. The plot’s a bit rubbish.

One of my first review notes was “this is going to be consistently embarrassingly booby, isn’t it?”. I can’t remember if I wrote that after realising how 80% of the female player character presets are missing 80% of their clothes, or whether it was when the opening cutscene introduced me to this person(‘s breasts).

Playing it right now and it's pretty great. Also I assume the character they're bitching about is Io and the reason she's basically naked is because she's a thrall/blood slave.

Original edition VTMB lore was way darker and would trigger these idiots so hard they'd shatter into pieces.

Code Vein currently has a 9/10 on Steam. So uh, yeah.

Also You can get the Deluxe Edition for 50 bucks if you shop around. I just bought it for a reward for myself. I'll write up a full review when I get around to it.

Please do. I watched Pat from TBFP play a little and it seemed like some quick action anime fun and if you can co-op it even better. There's a severe lack of new just dumb fun co-op games out atm. (Discounting Borderlands 3 cuz fuck Gearbox.)

If you want to check out another co-op game, look up Remnants: From Ashes. Its similar, but not anime and with more guns.

can recommend deep rock galactic and strange brigade (get the latter on sale). starlink is kinda fun too but ubisoft went full retard with the DRM and microtransactions.
