I remember Tim Rogers, he's a hipster who used to write blogposts of thousands of words about everything but video games on Kotaku. I still don't know why they hired him tbh. One time he wrote about how he liked to wear tracksuits.

Of course Kotaku would hire him. Spewing out thousands of words to talk about everything BUT video games? Totilo must have been so eager to hire Timmy that he bribed him with a blowjob.

Holy fucking shit this guy is a mad man and an absolute legend.

He literally links to Encyclopedia Dramatica for some of the receipts, god damn.

Just goes to show that he gives no fucks.

Most other people would be afraid to even whisper the name of that site out of fear of being called a racist shitlord, but he knows the Kuntaku squad is going to do it anyway and leans into it. Those shit weasels only have power over those that give it to them, and Lewis isn't giving them a fucking inch.

Speaking of Lewis, that one dumb bitch he mentioned in his articles that immediately spazzed out at him after his speech (and thus proved him correct) is leaving Kotaku:

She of course is just migrating to some other rag. Good fuckin' riddance either way.

Wasn't she also the one he called in his speech saying she should be up there accepting an award too? Was he be sarcastic about that? I never really kept up with him before this stuff.

No, he was genuinely serious. And when she freaked out on twitter about conspiracy theories and muh harassment he was nothing but polite to her in response. I don't you could find a better example of his point regarding journalist immaturity if you tried.

So then why did he mention her positively in the speech? She's been known to be a joke long before that.

Yeah, I don't know. I was rather confused, she's pretty well known as a shit-tier journalist at this point.

He personally dunked on D'Anastasio in Part 3 of his article series.

From the very end of the article:
"...Cecilia D’Anastasio rushed out an article in August 2018 that falsely accused Lengyel of having used homophobic slurs on stream, an incident that applied to another Dallas Fuel player. Despite this being easily checked with a quick Google search, the article was published with the false claim, prompting Lengyel to call out the publication on Twitter. This led to the editor of Kotaku Stephen Totilo publicly apologizing and saying it shouldn’t have happened. As demonstrated across these three articles, such errors would continue to occur under his watch. "

He knows she's a joke who writes for a clickbait rag.

I think she's the one who wrote about the shit happening at Riot Games.
Richard has been going after them for years, he has a lot of stuff about them, how they used to spy on their employees on social media, how they would do psychological tests to evaluate the so-called "toxicity" on their players without their knowledge, etc. When Richard Lewis broke those stories, both Lewis and Thorin ended up banned from every League competition.

LOL. Kuntaku is still clickbaiting and whiteknighting even as the Gawker sphere continues to circle the drain:

They listed 5 games that defined the decade, and put "Tales of the Borderlands", "Broken Age", and (of course) "Depression Quest" on the list. (What? No Life is Strange, Fez, Sunset, or Gone Home?)

Archive link

What the the hell is Tales of the Borderlands doing on here? If anything, The Walking Dead series deserves the spot.

And Broken Age? If this wasn't made by Tim Whatshisname, it wouldn't be on there, because he hasn't made a decent game since Psychonauts in the mid 2000s.

We all know why Depression Quest is on there - because Kotaku will stan Chelsea even when they're all in the unemployment line and Grayson needed his balls drained again.

They at least realized that Minecraft deserved the #1 spot because even they can't deny the influence it had on gaming this decade. Of course, if Notch still owned it, they would very well try to act like it didn't exist.

There were so many other much better choices, like Super Smash Brothers (a chunk of the Fighter Game Tournament scene is built around it), God of War (it breathed new life into a dying and tired franchise), Dark Souls (it created a new genre) or Fortnite (which ignited the Battle Royale craze)

But we all know that Kotaku gotta Kotaku, which is why they're a complete joke.

To be completely fair, Depression Quest can be considered the catalyst that really kicked off Gamergate, which in retrospect sorta ended up being a prelude to the Culture War. The fact that both sides still reference Gamergate to this day is a testament to its (autistic, *extremely* autistic) legacy.
