Right now people have entire relationship charts and employee time spreadsheets about Kojima's involvement with Blue Box Game Studios and how it's a shell company ment to act as a front for Kojima's Silent Hill game.
They make some compelling evidence and have gone so far as to dig up stuff on people who work there only to find they didn't exist up until 27 months ago.

But what is this obsession on wanting to have full on nudity in video games. I know it’s not new, but it’s been spiking up regularly as of late; thinking that having characters that are fully naked, or showing scenes where they’re half naked for just no reason at all, is a justification for not caring about gameplay or plot of how the base of the game is played.

If anything it has been growing stronger, it may not be popular with the masses but it's certainly popular with companies. All companies I've worked for in the last three years (Be it as an employee or while visiting clients) have had some diversity initiative, ranging from simple, non stop mails to taking mandatory seminars or courses to making an entire diversity department.

I know what you mean, I've explained myself, perhaps in this very same thread? That their rationale for why they go easier on Asia but expect western games to toe the line is that they think any western dev putting sexy women in a game is reverse virtue signaling and sending the message of "HONOR AND GLORY TO GAMERGATE!" whereas they assume Japan knows nothing about that.
However that's different than the past, back around 2015 they got just as buttpained over sexy women in Japanese games too, but have since strayed away from that, I think Nier Automata is a big reason why, that was a crossover hit and everyone loved the character of 2B, so they just let her robot buttcheeks slide.
But I do think they might stray away from it in western games too as it's only going to become more and more absurd to complain about a video game girl in a bikini while many women on Twitch are pretending to lick people's ears.
Make no mistake though, there won't be any apology, there won't be any "sorry, we were wrong to give gamers so much grief over this", they'll just quietly move on and get angry if anyone tries to bring up the past and point out the hypocrisy.

imo it's more like they tried and failed, and 6 years after the journalist holocaust aka gamergate people simply don't give a fuck anymore (and asia never did) while anime/manga/asian stuff is shitting over local entertainment pretty much everywhere. a big part of the whole thing is attention whoring (like companies talking about BLM for marketing), which doesn't work if people simply ignore it or outright tell you to STFU and they can't handwave it away as misogynistic incel chuds.
