Games like Donkey Kong arcade?

My dad really loves donkey kong. Other than solitaire its the only game he plays. Anyone know any games like it? I mean there are plenty of arcade games but not many copy its formula.

I don't know, Donkey Kong 2 and Donkey Kong 3, the Gameboy version one is a extended version of the original...
Crazy Castle can be one? I'm a bit confused.

Do you mean games that only have one screen? Pac-Man, Tetris and Q-Bert all seem like obvious answers. If you're talking specifically about games that play like Donkey Kong then its sequel (Donkey Kong Jr.) is definitely worth checking out, not sure if I would say the same about Donkey Kong 3 though because it actually plays a lot more like Galaga or Centipede.

The only ones I recall playing are Jumpman, Popeye (This one was literally made with repurposed DK cabinets) and Burger time (Burger time may be a stretch though)

Seconding Donkey Kong on Game Boy, that's like a full version that has more than just four screens.

It sort of continued by way of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, but they're not as good in ways I can't put my finger on

There are a lot of old NES titles that have a simple play style similar to Donkey Kong. Almost all of them are Arcade games that were ported to the machine by various different companies. that feature a black background with minimal graphics and sound.

When I was a kid my dad somehow managed to get his hands on a bootleg multicart called MegaCom 76-in-1 (also called Supervision 76-in-1)
