Games that push your PC to the limit

I've built a PC that I'm very proud of and I'm looking for games that really test it.

I don't really give a shit about benchmarks or FPS I'm just looking for games that are known for being really taxing that my computer can run without noticeable slowdown. So far I've played Far Cry Primal and Hitman on maxed out settings and they've been smooth as butter. I'm currently downloading Grand Theft Auto 5 to give it a try.

Does anyone have any recommendations for games that will really punish your computer? Poorly optimized indie games don't count of course.

Doom is a good but different kind of fun for that, because the game is so well optimized that it's fun to see it pushed to like 200+ FPS despite looking so pretty.

Arma 3 with everything turned up and some nice mods on Tanoa with however much AI you want to put in place. you can also try maxing out Crysis. if you've already tried Far Cry Primal and Hitman with everything cranked up (4k, all the AA and AO options enabled, et c). then pretty much only Arma 3 (very CPU limited with large render volumes) or maybe Ark Survival Evolved (unoptimized pretty much) will significantly tank it.

ARK, I have a 4820k and a 1070 few and I still can't get 60 fps at max settings.

Space Hulk: Deathwing has incredible texture and mesh work that stressed my PC pretty hard.

Stellaris and probably going to uninstall Space Hulk Deathwing since noone plays it anymore hardly

Planet Coaster is a CPU killer once it gets to the point of having to do pathfinding for 10,000 park visitors.

Also anything flight sim related will murder your system, especially if it's doing full physics calculations for AI planes (Glares at IL-2 Stalingrad)

If we're talking killers, I seem to remember Rage being a good one since it's optimized like ass. And yeah, IL-2 as a series is a good pick for comp-killer too.

They need to release mod tools for Deathwing and open up the Workshop.
there were many questionable design decisions made during the development and the lack of polish really hurt the longevity of the game. while i do like it in its niche, even mods would only prolong death without new maps.

I've been playing ARMA 3 lately and I haven't noticed a big FPS dip anywhere yet... what sort of mods should I look at?

Then again my gaming rig is STRONK so it's not a fact that we'll be able to get it to tank.

New maps would be nice. Offer on deep sale, bundle in mod tools and tutorials, and bam. Unreal is pretty simple as far as engines go.

ACE3, Ares, Vcom AI, VSM, all the RHS stuff, set all settings to max, view distance 20km, et c, then find and run the mission OSN Shutdown and try and play it with all the AI enabled.

Anything really, but that's only because I need to build a new PC. Currently on an old laptop. Wont be building a new PC until the Naples processors come out and GTX2080 later this year.

Yeah, Doom runs like a dream.

the sims. all of them
I don't know what the deal is with the Sims. It seems to run the same no matter how powerful your computer is. For some reason Sims 3 has a difficult time with newer video cards.

I've heard people mention that ARMA 3 is a bitch to run, maybe I'll give it a try.
