I can't find any game that better fits such a description, by both intentional and meta factors, than Ingress, the precursor to Pokemon Go.
This game is made by Google, for mobile devices, all red flags - which don't even matter when it has a natural need to spy on you to work. The premise even sounds like a schiphrenic delusion; the players are members of cultish agencies that corrupt landmarks, mostly churches, cemetaries and artworks, and use them to make people either more or less vulnerable to the influence of the brain energy aliens.
Finally, irresponsibly playing it will get you run over while literally glowing in the dark because you were paying to much attention to the ingame map.
