Climate retards have successfully decapitated western countries ability to be energy self sufficient and now they're beholden to China (who make the wind farms and solar cells lmao) and Russia (largest metals exporter in the world lmao). Nordstream 2 is Europe for example was invested heavily by the EU, billions in fact until the US pimp slapped Germany to shut it down to further sanction Russia.

A mix of the Russian invasion causing chaos and Biden banning Russian oil in a self-destructive attempt to "own" Putin.

Supposedly, this is supposed to put pressure on Russia, but all this will do is push us even closer to an economic collapse.

Oil companies are incredibly reactionary and based on speculation, similar to the stock market. Holiday coming up? Bam, five cent jump. Christmas? Ten cents. Oil spill? Woah, fifteen cents. Political decision involving oil at all? Hope you can take out another mortgage to fill your tank.
Nothing legitimate is lowering supply(at least in the US) because we get most of our oil from Saudi Arabia - what we have in "reserve" is supposed to be sat on until the rest of the Earth is starting to run dry so we can cash in.

The states are fully capable of producing enough gasoline to keep the price "low," relatively speaking. As you may recall, this happened not more than 2-3 years ago when we were completely independent of needing foreign oil. It isn't Russia or OPEC or any other boogeyman. It's actually worse: this crisis has been deliberately orchestrated by our own government (and, of course, globohomo..but I repeat myself).

Right now California is having numerous brown outs during the summer because of the increased demand on the electircal grid with all of the AC's running. Imagine how that ancient infrastructure would handle the demand of millions of new electric cars all being plugged in all at once around 5 PM or so when people go home.
